Icebergs are fragments of ice mountains that drift freely in the ocean.











This is a beautiful and majestic spectacle, but at the same time incredibly dangerous.



The top of the iceberg is compressed snow, while the lower part is a huge block of blue ice, which fascinates with its beauty.



It takes on this color because it completely absorbs red while reflecting blue.



The bottom of an iceberg is considered to be incredibly difficult to see, but in reality this is not entirely true.





Ice blocks can either spin in the water or turn over completely.



This happens because the density of ice is less than that of water, and when the iceberg melts, the center of gravity changes.





There is a known case when a block of ice capsized along with people: members of the group of the famous traveler Mike Horn were injured.



In September 2020, two people from the team tried to conquer the top of the glacier with the help of crampons, but in the end almost died. No one was hurt then, the researchers only escaped with a slight fright.
