Many people experience such an unpleasant manifestation as an attack of nausea after training. Why do you feel sick after sports, and what can you do to stop this condition from bothering you anymore?
Causes of nausea after exercise
1. Reducing blood sugar levels. Glucose provides energy for muscles. But with increased stress, it is quickly consumed, resulting in a sugar deficiency and, as a result, nausea.
2. Heat stroke. During exercise, your body temperature rises. If training takes place in a gym with an insufficient ventilation system or outside in warm or hot weather, then heat stroke cannot be ruled out. One of the manifestations of which is nausea.
3. Lack of sodium. During active movement, a person sweats, which causes the body to lose sodium, which is manifested by dizziness and nausea.
4. Incorrect breathing. If you hold your breath for a long time during intense exercise or breathe shallowly and intermittently, this causes disruption of blood flow in the lungs. The result is hypoxia, accompanied by nausea.
5. General malaise. An attack may be the result of too much exercise or a quick transition to training after a long break, for example, after an illness.
How to avoid nausea during exercise?
To avoid nausea, it is important not to eat for at least 3 hours before training and, if possible, eat only light foods. If special complexes are prescribed that increase endurance, then they should be temporarily canceled and monitor the reaction. It is important to find water balance. You should not drink too much, nor should you become dehydrated. During training, you can periodically drink plain water in small sips. If the first signs of discomfort arise - a tingling sensation in the right side, dizziness, nausea, then you should take a break. You need to sit down, take a breath and observe your condition. If the symptoms go away, you can continue training, but only with less intensity.
If you have signs of hypoglycemia, you should also take a break, eat a piece of chocolate, and drink sweet tea. If a person is just starting to play sports, then the starting point should be feasible loads: exercises, a walk, a short jog, squats, bends. When the body gets used to the training, you can supplement and complicate it. If you have chronic diseases, you should consult your doctor before choosing a particular set of exercises.
