We all go to the store, trying to choose the highest quality and at the same time cheap products. It’s just that there are often expired items on the shelves, which stores cleverly disguise by re-sticking the price tags. Is it possible to understand where they are trying to heat us up? Yes, and here are some tips on this topic.

And let's start with the chicken, which should have delicately pale skin and meat with a light pink tint. Too thick skin and a distinct yellow discoloration may indicate that the product is old. Plus, good chicken won't be sticky or slippery.

But the easiest way to check its freshness is by pressing. Fresh chicken meat holds its shape well.

Let's move on to the fish. When fresh, it should have a soft, characteristic aroma, but not a pronounced odor, which is obvious. In this case, you can determine by the gills how long ago it was caught. Newly caught fish will be pink or red in color.

The easiest way to identify meat is by touch, if its smell and color do not indicate anything. If it is fresh, then there will be no depressions left in it, and the tissue will return to its original shape.

To check the quality of an egg, just shake it. If gurgling is heard, it means it is better not to take it. Although it is clear that checking all the packaging in a store is not very convenient.

It is also worth paying attention to the proximity of the product, since eggs easily absorb odors. So, if they are lying somewhere nearby, for example, with fish, it is better to refuse to buy them.

When choosing bread, you should pay attention to the label, which lists the ingredients in descending order depending on quantity. Nutritional additives come at the very end, so the best bread is considered to be the one with the shortest list of these same ingredients.

You won’t be able to judge the freshness of milk by taste and smell in a store. Therefore, you can only judge its quality by its color (if you don’t buy it in bags), which should be pure white with a slight yellowish tint, but certainly not translucent.

What kind of butter can you eat? Although it can be stored in the freezer for up to 9 months, it is worth cutting off a piece and looking at the inside before eating. If it turns out to be lighter than the outside, it means it has oxidized and is no longer safe to eat.

Understanding how fresh fruits and vegetables are is not that difficult. But what about frozen ones? After all, there is always a risk that they were frozen again, which is unacceptable. It’s easy to check: a high-quality product will be easily poured into the packaging, which should also have no traces of icing.

Shrimp is one of the most perishable foods. Losing freshness, dark spots appear on their body, although this will most likely appear after defrosting. In addition, whether they have spoiled or not can be determined by the smell: a spoiled delicacy will smell of ammonia.

Well, let's finish with caviar, the freshness of which can also be determined by its smell. If it has a persistent fishy aroma, then its quality is questionable. In addition, you can test the product using water.

Fresh eggs will sink to the bottom, while expired or fake eggs will certainly float to the surface.
