The dog breeds presented below have a striking appearance and an interesting history of origin, which fully explains their price tag. We invite you to get to know them better. It is quite possible that you will fall passionately in love with one of them and wish to purchase it in the near future.

As you know, a dog is man's best friend. And the breed of the pet in this case does not matter at all. You can immensely love and cherish both a titled Great Dane and a mongrel mongrel picked up from the street. However, this axiom does not negate the fact that there are the most expensive dog breeds, which not everyone can acquire (or at least not right away). These pets cost so much that for their price it is quite possible to buy a good car or even a small house.

Affenpinscher - 14th place

Price: 1800-2500 dollars

Why do you need a cat if you have a dog? German breeders thought something like this and created a breed of rat-catching dogs, known today as the Affenpinscher. These kids did an excellent job with rats in grain barns and stables, which is why they deserved special recognition. The breed appeared no later than the 17th century, but historians do not have exact data on the date of birth of the Affenpinschers.

Alaskan Klee Kai - 13th place

Price: 2600-3000 dollars

The naked eye can see who is the progenitor of the Alaskan Klee Kai. The breed is a smaller copy of the husky. The appearance of these four-legged animals in the 70s caused a lot of noise. They enthusiastically talked about the breed on the radio, filmed reports for television, and people from all over the United States (the homeland of the Klee Kai) raced to write to the owner of the first individuals, wanting to buy a puppy. And the breed appeared thanks to a husky puppy named “Curious”, who was born very small and was never able to grow to normal size.

Maltipoo - 12th place

Price: 2000-4000 dollars

Half Toy Poodle and half Maltese, that's what Maltipoos are. This breed is very young and is still not recognized throughout the world. The first maltipoo appeared about 20 years ago. It is believed that the breed was bred for people prone to allergies, because active shedding is not typical for these pets.

Saluki or Persian Greyhound – 11th place

Price: 2500-5000 dollars

The Saluki is a special and ancient breed. It is impossible to determine exactly when it appeared; it is believed to be the 4th century BC. In addition, scientists have found that Salukis were deliberately bred in ancient Egypt and Iran.

Australian Cattle Dog - 10th place

Price: 3000-5000 dollars

The breed appeared in the 19th century. The Australian Cattle Dog owes its origin to the cattle breeder Thomas Hill. The man realized that the shepherd dogs imported from Europe were not performing their duties well. In this regard, he decided to cross the collie and the Australian wild dog dingo. After Hill's death, his dogs were bought up by other farmers who improved the breed by crossing it with Dalmatians, Bull Terriers and other breeds.

Samoyed dog or samoyed - 9th place

Price: 4000-5000 dollars

The Samoyed is an elegant, medium-sized white dog. Place of origin: Siberia and the north of the Russian Federation. In the 19th century, travelers resorted to the help of these dogs in their expeditions to the North and South Poles.

Norfolk Terrier (Norfolk Terrier) – 8th place

Price: 3500-6500 dollars

The Norfolk Terrier is one of the smallest hunting breeds in the world. These babies appeared in England, in the county of Norfolk in the 19th century, but they were only introduced into an independent breed in 1964.

Pomeranian Spitz - 7th place

Price: 3000-8000 dollars

The Prussian province of Pomerania is considered the birthplace of the Pomeranian. It’s hard to believe, but initially individuals of this breed weighed about 15 kilograms! Over time, German dog breeders decided to make the breed more compact by selecting the smallest individuals for breeding. This is how the world got modern Spitz dogs, whose weight barely exceeds 2 kilograms.

Pembroke Welsh Corgi – 6th place

Price: 2200-10000 dollars

Welsh Corgis are incredibly charming and charismatic, and that is why their future owners are willing to pay a tidy sum for a puppy. The history of the origin of the breed is lost for centuries. The first written mentions of the breed are found in the code of laws of the 10th century. What is known for certain is that the birthplace of the breed is Great Britain.

Belgian Shepherd Malinois – 5th place

Price: 3500-8000 dollars

Previously, the Malinois was an ordinary working dog. Over time, she migrated to the ranks of her favorite pets, but she still did not lose her amazing qualities. The Malinois has an exceptional sense of smell, excellent stamina and a sharp mind.

Afghan Hound – 4th place

Price: 7000-8000 dollars

Peace-loving and friendly breed. These pets appeared in Afghanistan, after which the dogs came to England, and from there they spread throughout Europe. The breed is so ancient that historians cannot pinpoint the exact date of their appearance.

Canadian Eskimo Dog – 3rd place

Price: 7000-8000 dollars

One of the oldest breeds bred in North America. The first dogs were brought from Siberia by the Thule people about 1000 years ago. Today, unfortunately, the breed is under threat of complete extinction.

Price: 8000-12000 dollars

Tibetan Mastiff - 1st place

Price: 15,000-30,000 dollars

The Tibetan Mastiff is a breed that originated approximately 2,500 years ago. These furry giants lived in the monasteries of Tibet, performing guard duty. Mastiffs also helped nomads in the Himalayan mountains for quite a long time.
