10 underrated comedies, which for some reason are rarely remembered, but laugh for a long time (11 photos)
I offer a selection of humorous films of a completely different nature, where everyone can choose something to suit their taste.
Napoleon Dynamite (2004)
IMDb: 7
A hero with an ironic name, an outcast both at school and at home, finally sets a goal with the help of a newly acquired friend. The film, which exaggerates the image of the loser, makes caustic and cheerful jokes about different aspects of the issue of those very strange guys and leaves the viewer with faith in the dream and that everyone deserves to achieve it.
Watch Them Run (2022)
IMDb: 6.5
Saoirse Ronan and Sam Rockwell in a purely British comedy (but co-produced in the USA), which involves Agatha Christie's play The Mousetrap. Young director Tom George was clearly inspired by Wes Anderson's humor and aesthetic scenes, but also added a lot of his own satirical view of the film industry.
Dinner with Assholes (2010)
IMDb: 5.9
Steve Carell's signature style of playing outlandish comedic roles and Paul Rudd's Hollywood charm make this comedy better than you'd expect. The film turns into balancing on the brink of absurdity and common sense.
The Pink Panther (1963)
IMDb: 7
It's a wonder why this gorgeous classic comedy doesn't get high ratings. The foolish but insanely lucky Jacques Clouzot will bring you to tears. The picture has nine sequels. The second is rated even higher than the first.
Love you, man (2008)
IMDb: 7
Don't be confused by the youthful and simple title, this romantic comedy will take a completely unexpected turn and charge you with positive energy to the fullest. Maybe it will even make you look at your life from a different angle, as the main character did. While preparing for the wedding, he realized that he did not have a friend to act as best man, and went to look for him.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2001)
IMDb: 6.6
If you are already tired of “Mamma Mia!”, “Bridget Jones’s Diary” and have not seen this wonderful comedy, then immediately put things aside and enjoy. The film will especially appeal to those who often hear: “When will the groom show up?” or “It’s time for the kids.” In general, anyone whose relatives want to get married (or get married) more than you yourself.
Love and Other Medicines (2010)
IMDb: 6.7
A comedy with a touch of drama, which reveals the ins and outs of Viagra sales, raises the issue of Parkinson's disease and actually talks about the difficult road to true love. Well, all the humor lies in the awkwardness between these different, but equally in love people. The film is quite light in both humor and drama, which only works to its advantage.
Adult Surprise (2008)
IMDb: 6.8
This comedy will remind you of both the Soviet “Mustachioed Nanny” and the American “Nannies”. The plot is based on how two friends, having committed a rash act, are forced to work out their punishment. Their task is to make real men out of two teenage boys. In the process, it becomes unclear who is teaching whom in life.
Logan Lucky (2017)
IMDb: 7
If you want to watch an adventure comedy where James Bond plays a prisoner and Kylo Ren plans a heist, then you've already found it. Daniel Craig, Adam Driver and Channing Tatum tell the story of losers who decide to take a desperate step.
Decent Society (2022)
IMDb: 6.6
If you still have preconceptions about Indian films, then they will most likely be dispelled. Of course, there are dances and martial arts, but they are presented as elements of humor, as well as a way of conveying vivid emotions. At the center of the British comedy with Indian roots is a girl who dreams of becoming a stuntwoman.
