It is unlikely that anyone on the planet is familiar with absolutely all the diversity of our flora and fauna. There are 100 thousand species of different mushrooms and three times as many plants in the world. Many of those mentioned you probably haven't even heard of. And we didn’t see it either.

At first glance, cycad can be confused with a pineapple or a palm tree, but if you eat it, you can be seriously poisoned, because it is poisonous.

Mushrooms are quite a bizarre life. Thus, corn smut feeds only on corn, affecting the cobs. Although in some countries they eat it, comparing its taste with the taste of truffles.

But this is an inedible redmouth with an orange or red body. The mushroom is covered in mucus and is poisonous to eat.

Well, everyone knows tinder. It grows on already dead trees, so it is not a parasite.

And this beautiful Chilean puia is somewhat reminiscent of the alien Lila from The Fifth Element - just as exquisite, although it looks unearthly.

Many people love cacti because of their unpretentiousness, but few realize how many different bizarre species of these plants there are. This Brazilian beauty is called spiral cereus. It has no trunk and the stems are curled.

And here is another worthy representative of the species - Opuntia Santa Rita. The cactus grows in purple or bluish bushes.

If someone had a porcelain vine growing as a weed in their garden, then no one would be particularly against it, because it is a worthy decoration for any garden.

And this is also a vine, only jade. It is considered an endangered species, and no one will argue that this is one of the most beautiful plants on the planet.

Previously, banksia flowers were used as sugar, but now it is most often used as part of decorative elements. It is noteworthy that the flower is not afraid of fire; fire, on the contrary, helps the seeds to be released.

Small clumps of cotton grass (tundra cotton) can be found in the Northern Hemisphere of the earth. These are perennial plants, of which there are more than 30 species.

But we used to see physalis quite often. Nowadays it is more of a wild plant that cannot be eaten, but it is still used as decoration.

Stone rose or echeveria is a peculiar plant common in Mexico.

The Indian strange fishtail palm is used for street landscaping in the tropics.

Three-spined honey locust is a luxurious tree that has spines on its trunk to prevent other plants from growing nearby. These thorns can easily puncture a tire.

And this beauty is elephant yam, which smells unpleasant during flowering. Its tubers contain a lot of protein and starch.

This delicate intangible rose is called creeping gravilate and comes from the rose family.
