"Jumanji" is a legendary 1995 film with a bright, interesting and unusual plot. Of course, many have watched this film more than once, and today I would like to tell you interesting facts about the film “Jumanji” that many do not know about.

1. The film "Jumanji" is based on a children's book of the same name, released in the late 80s. However, the story there was not as creepy as it was made in the film. And in the book there were no such characters as Alan and Sarah. They were written specifically for the film.

2. When Robin Williams was asked what Jumanji was, he said that it was an island in the center of the Caribbean Sea. In fact, the word "Jumanji" is taken from the Zulu language, and it can be translated roughly as "Many effects." Robin Williams knew this very well, but he liked to lead journalists by the nose.

3. Today, the animals in the movie "Jumanji" look unrealistic, but meanwhile, this is the first film where the fur of the animals was completely generated on a computer.

4. Initially, Bruce Willis was considered for the role of Alan, but he refused because he was busy filming another film. As a result, the role was offered to Robin Williams, who played Alan Parrish. True, not everyone was in favor of Robin Williams, since everyone knew that he loved to improvise. But Williams made concessions and agreed to follow the script, improvising only on rare occasions.

5. A young Scarlett Johansson auditioned for the role of Judy, and she had many chances to play the role. But as we all know, the role went to the young actress Kirsten Dunst.

6. Actor Jonathan Hyde played Alan Parrish's father and the hunter from the game in the film. This was not done by chance. Despite the fact that Alan loved his father, he was afraid of him, and therefore the hunter became for him a kind of image of childhood fear.

7. Actor Robin Williams is 10 years older than actress Boney Hunt, but in the film they are the same age.

8. Critics trashed the movie "Jumanji". Moreover, the point was not that the film itself seemed bad to them, but that they expected to see a children's fairy tale, but got a rather creepy picture. Even Robin Williams did not allow his children to see the film until they were older for the same reason.

9. The filmmakers were sued for cruelty to animals. Moreover, animal rights activists made a special point about the fact that an elephant was injured during filming. It sounds absurd, but the authors actually had to prove in court that all the animals were fake.

10. The final Christmas scene was filmed first because the writers wanted to film the house in excellent condition before it was torn down.

11. Two final scenes were cut from the film. In the first of them, a black factory employee, Karl, who became president, shows Alan and a colleague new shoes. And in the second scene, during the Christmas party, Judy and her brother open their gifts and find shoes with the word "Jumanji" written on them.

12. For the wall destruction scene, a ram in the shape of a blue rhinoceros was used, and only then a computer rhinoceros was added there.

13. When a hunter enters a gun store, the Mexican national anthem plays in the background. But to avoid outrage in Mexico itself, the background music was changed to something different especially for the Mexican version of the film.

14. Few people paid attention to this, but for trying to cheat, Peter not only became like a monkey. In addition, the game sent his chip to the very beginning.

15. Alan couldn't win. The fact is that each player's path consists of 31 cells. For all the time, starting from childhood, Alan threw out 5, some unknown number, 7 and 3. Even if there were 12 (maximum) under the unknown number, the total would be 27, not 31.

16. Some time after the release of the film, an animated series of the same name was released, where this time Judy and Peter are transported into the game to the bearded Alan.
