The teeth of a modern person are not only organs for grinding food, but also an important aesthetic component of the image. Interestingly, anthropologists have long identified a connection between their condition and characteristics and belonging to a particular race, ethnic group, gender, and even established a relationship with hair color.

Europeans, Asians and Africans

Europeans have the smallest and weakest teeth when compared with the populations of Africa and Asia. This is due to the peculiarities of the diet, in which there are fewer and fewer vegetables and coarse, unprocessed foods.

With such a diet, there is a gradual change in the jaw towards smaller teeth. Asians and Africans, on the contrary, have stronger and larger teeth, since they prefer vegetables, fruits, and eat a lot of cereals.

Hair color and eye shape

Studies have shown that Chinese people are half as likely to suffer from tooth decay compared to Europeans. And, interestingly, this disease is observed more often in blondes than in dark-haired people. Scientists associate this feature with the presence of genes from Asian peoples.

Convex teeth

Malays, Filipinos and other peoples of Southeast Asia have a specific, rounded shape of their teeth. This is a tribute to the memory of ancient ancestors. Europeans also had such teeth, but gradually disappeared during evolutionary changes.

About the manifestation of wisdom

Wisdom teeth are already a thing of the past in many regions. Among Asians and Africans, they germinate in the bulk. And in Europe it is already more the exception than the rule. Researchers attribute this to a transition to softer foods and a genetic factor.

Proper nutrition

Molars - molar chewing teeth in the vast majority of people have two roots on the lower jaw and three on the upper jaw. But there are exceptions: a large percentage of people in Thailand, Japan and Malaysia have three roots on the mandibular first molar.

Diet significantly affects the condition of teeth. Thus, Eskimos, whose menu contains exclusively natural products - meat, fat, nuts and berries, practically do not encounter the problem of caries and tooth loss.

As for gender, men can boast of wider and longer fangs. In women they are much smaller on the lower jaw. In addition, representatives of the fairer sex are more likely to encounter problems with teeth and their loss due to pregnancy and childbirth.
