1. He tried his hand at acting while still in school. 
At the age of 10, Robert De Niro took part in the school production of “The Wizard of Oz” and played the Cowardly Lion. Yes, this is not the hero of “The Godfather 2.” But perhaps it was these first steps on stage that led Robert to the acting profession.
2. He prefers not to talk about his personal life.

5. He is not only an actor, but also a businessman

Robert De Niro co-founded the luxury hotel and restaurants with renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa in 1994. Nobu currently operates 15 hotels and 63 restaurants around the world.
6. He banned Donald Trump from his restaurant.

7. He dropped out of school at 16

8. He was nicknamed Bobby Milk by an Italian street gang.

9. He auditioned for several roles in The Godfather Part II 
Before Robert De Niro played young Vito Corleone, few people knew him in Hollywood. He became a sensation after his appearance in The Godfather Part II. It is curious that he auditioned for as many as four roles in this film - Sonny Corleone, Michael Corleone, Carlo Rizzi and Paulie Gatto - and was rejected. But then director Francis Ford Coppola decided to give him a chance. And I was right.
10. He worked as a taxi driver for a month to get into the role 
In the film Taxi Driver, De Niro played Travis, a war veteran and taxi driver from New York. To prepare for the role, he worked as a taxi driver for more than a month. The film was released in February 1976 and is considered one of the best in the actor’s career. There's a reason it earned him a nomination for Best Actor at the Academy Awards.
