Ridiculous laws of different countries that really exist (9 photos)
We don't know much about the laws of other countries, and to be honest, we don't want to, because it's a very boring topic. And we are very wrong.
You can't eat cookies at Christmas
In 1644 in England, Oliver Cromwell banned the celebration of Christmas because in his opinion it was immoral. Along with the holiday itself, many items associated with it were also banned, including sweet Christmas buns and cookies. The funny thing is that this law has never been officially repealed, so technically everyone in England is committing a crime every time they eat a cookie at Christmas.
Choosing a name
In France it is illegal to call a pig Napoleon. This rule was introduced to prevent offense to the heirs of Napoleon Bonaparte.
You can't touch whales
Here's another strange law from England. According to it, all whales, dolphins and other marine mammals located in the 4 km coastal zone of England are the property of the King of Great Britain. Therefore, even if you just touch one of them, you will be breaking the law.
You can't die in Parliament
Do you think this is the end of strange English laws? You are wrong. We have another puzzling law for you. According to it, the death of any politician in Parliament is a crime. We cannot say for sure what punishment a criminal who kills someone within the walls of this legislative body will receive. Probably both he and the murdered man will be punished according to the law.
You can't help a drowning person
Well, what a list of strange laws without China! In this country there is a law according to which it is forbidden to help a drowning person. This strange and inhumane legal act is associated with Eastern philosophy, which claims that any interference in human destiny is immoral. Skeptics, however, believe that the Chinese authorities are using this law to control the population, but we prefer the first option.
You can't kiss in train stations
Everyone associates France with love. Therefore, it is not clear how the following law could even arise in it. It was adopted in 1910, when kissing couples were so busy saying goodbye to each other that trains had to be delayed because of them. As a result, the authorities banned kissing on railway platforms and created special areas where loving couples could properly say “goodbye” to each other.
You can't feed the pigeons
In fact, you can do this anywhere, but not in Venice. There, feeding poor hungry pigeons is illegal and punishable by a fine. But there is some reasonableness in this law - if you do not want to see beautiful buildings and monuments stained with pigeon droppings, then follow this law.
Buddha
In Thailand, it is illegal to take Buddha images out of the country without prior permission. This rule aims to protect sacred symbols and prevent the commercialization of religious objects.
