Let's remember the particularly striking failures of Hollywood remaking, when studios took on the creation of their own versions of non-American films and overestimated their strength.
Hollywood has long held the title of the very place where the best films in the world are produced. And most of the projects released there confirm this status. But what Hollywood isn't so good at is remakes. And both for our own, that is, American films, and for foreign ones. Good and bad paintings, which are remakes of old ones, appear in a ratio of about 50/50 - one will be successful, and the second will fail miserably and disappoint everyone.

Bonus: "Solaris" (2002)

Soviet version ratings: IMDb 8.0
Bonus 2: “Perfect Strangers” (Italy, 2015)
It’s an amazing thing, because remakes of this Italian dramatic comedy were filmed in 18 countries around the world (it even made it into the Guinness Book of Records). But not in the USA!
Of course, Hollywood development took place, but it fell into the wrong hands at the wrong time. The remake was produced by The Weinstein Company, which ceased to exist in 2018 after Harvey Weinstein was accused of sexual harassment.
Therefore, at the moment the fate of Hollywood's "Perfect Strangers" is unknown.
