Only when you grow up do you begin to understand why your mother has been using the same kettle for 30 years, and the brand new one, given to her for New Year, stands idle in the cupboard. Indeed, some household items, furniture and even clothing can serve faithfully for decades in a row. These things are of such high quality that you don’t want to exchange them for newer and even more beautiful and modern ones.
