Scenes are filmed and scenes are mercilessly removed from the final films. This is the will of the creators, they had their own reasons for this, but we can only, if we are really interested, look for the deleted scenes on the Internet. However, oddly enough, not all of them got there.

Today we will look at those scenes that ended up online only in the form of stills or even behind-the-scenes shots. How they would look in the paintings from which they were cut out, you will have to imagine for yourself. Some parts could really change the plot, while others would just look cool and unexpected.

Take a look and try to mentally fit them into the films.

What the invisible monsters in Bird Box (2017) were supposed to look like

They were not shown in the film itself; the photo was posted on social networks by Howard Berger, a prosthetic makeup artist who worked on the film. However, judging by the reaction online, cutting out these creepy child-like monsters was the right idea. The mystery of evil worked much better.

Frodo-Gollum in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002)

In the script of the film there was a dream scene of Faramir, where he dreamed of the future Frodo, whose soul was possessed by the One Ring. Elijah Wood was even made up to look like a gollum version of his character, but we never saw that scene.

Album scene from The Shining (1980)

A scene was filmed for the film in which Jack Torrance wanders through the house and stumbles upon a mysterious album with newspaper clippings telling about the dark past of the Overlook Hotel. Naturally, Jack liked him. The album was featured in many deleted scenes and even appeared in the background in the final film, but without explanation, so few people paid attention to it.

By the way, the very last shot of the film was originally intended to be a slow camera movement towards an open album, where Jack could be seen in an old photo. After the album was largely removed from the final film, this idea was replaced by a framed photograph on the wall.

Scenes from the album were preserved only in the form of Polaroids.

Alien at Mother's Bed in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)

A rather strange and slightly creepy scene in which an alien wanders around the house at night and comes into Mary’s bedroom to stand and stare at her.

Harley Quinn's wedding outfit in Suicide Squad (2016)

As Margot Robbie said, from the footage of her and Jared Leto, it was possible to edit a whole film just about the relationship between Harley Quinn and the Joker. Among the deleted scenes was the appearance of Harley in her wedding look.

Death of Alex Kintner in Jaws (1975)

The creepiest of the list and generally one of the most terrible deleted scenes in cinema history. In the film itself, the character's death was shown differently - the shark and its mouth were practically invisible.

Cake fight in Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Atomic Bomb (1963)

This is exactly how Stanley Kubrick's legendary black comedy was originally supposed to end. But the director cut this piece (not the cake) from the final version of the film after the preliminary screening:

I decided it was farcical and didn't fit with the satirical tone of the rest of the film.

Macready sex doll from The Thing (1982)

According to the script, the main character kept an inflatable doll in his room, and two scenes were even planned with its participation: in one, MacReady inflates it while watching some videotapes, and in the second, after the monster appears, the doll pops up in front of Knowles, scaring him, and he eats it. However, the film's director, John Carpenter, apparently decided that the presence of the doll did more to distract from the story than to help it.

A few lessons from John Keating from the movie Dead Poets Society (1989)

The footage shows the existence of some deleted scenes from various of Keating's lessons in his unique style. In one, Keating projects images of women's underwear advertisements onto a screen while giving the boys a test, telling them to focus on the task at hand rather than the women and saying it will "prepare them for college."

Joy at the bar from Blade Runner 2049 (2017)

What Joy, an artificial holographic program in the story, was doing in the bar and who she was talking to is unknown. But it was in these shots that Ana de Armas demonstrated her readiness to play Marilyn Monroe if the opportunity presented itself to her.
