Most often, garden ground beetles can be found in gardens and vegetable gardens. They are mobile, aggressive and hunt caterpillars and snails. The only drawback of these arthropods is that they do not hesitate to fire at their own: attack both other ground beetles and smaller representatives of their species.

But Trichogramma is great, it attacks only moth butterflies, thereby protecting fruits and vegetables from the invasion of caterpillars. She just doesn't do it in the most attractive way. Trichogramma itself has neither the strength nor the ability to fight directly, because it is a small fly less than a millimeter in length.

But she has a long and thin ovipositor, which is very convenient for piercing the eggs of butterflies and hiding their babies there. The caterpillar will not be able to hatch - it will be eaten first. The egg will be left by a fully formed fly, ready to commit robbery on the next batch of eggs. And the best part is that these insects can be hired! Some companies breed flies and sell them in tens or hundreds of millions of individuals per year.
