If a snail breeder had a magic lamp, his first wish would be a fire snail. This mollusk is the most treasured species among lovers of this strange hobby. For the sake of this slug, mere mortals will have to fly to Malaysia, climb the mountains and break a couple of local laws. You can only get it by miracle.





Why has the fire snail become so coveted? And look how she looks! The animal clearly took its color scheme from the Goths: the shell looks like it was dipped in pure oil, and the body looks like it was dipped in someone’s blood. This cute monster is more than 20 centimeters in length. It is the largest snail in Malaysia.



The diet of the fatal beauty is also non-trivial - she is a predator. Of course, the mollusk eats not only meat: the menu includes a wide range of products from fruits to organic waste. But fire snails really love to eat corpses. These slugs even attack their relatives if they are nearby.





Fire snails live in only one place on the planet - in the mountain tropical forests of Malaysia, at an altitude of more than a kilometer. But even there they are quite difficult to find: during the day they hide in secluded places, and at night no one wants to climb into the dense jungle. I can understand them.

So it is extremely difficult to have slimy Draculas in your terrarium. In their homeland, they are under strict protection - it is very difficult to take them out of the country without ending up in prison. And most importantly, so far not a single person in the world has managed to separate them.



Fire snails reproduce just like everyone else. But problems arise with the offspring. They are fed with a wide variety of food, they manically monitor the humidity and temperature in the terrariums, they create all possible and impossible amenities - one hell of a deal: their kids die without even living a week.



What they lack is not known to any snail breeder on the planet. And the destruction of the natural environment and predatory poaching put poor mollusks in a catastrophic situation: if they become extinct in their homeland, then this species can be immediately put to rest, since laboratory populations simply do not exist.



What complicates the situation is that no one has observed these baby snails in the wild. People saw only adults.

Whoever is the first to figure out what newborn Draculas need to survive will not only become fabulously rich, but may also save an entire species from extinction. However, thousands of slug breeders around the world have already failed.
