Alabai: Guarding does not mean killing. A dog that is mired in stereotypes about his own malice (4 photos)
A monster of the dog world, a cruel representative of the woolly titans, bloodthirsty, strong, merciless. He cannot be tamed, only temporarily muzzled on a huge chain. According to the majority, Alabai is a real one-headed Cerberus, a monster that should be feared.
The history of the breed confirms this idea. Dogs were born 4 thousand years ago, and immediately found themselves in difficult conditions. The mountain ranges of Central Asia are rich in climatic zones: in some places there is scorching heat, while in others the snow does not melt for six months. In this harsh climate, the dogs had a harsh job - protecting homosapiens and their livestock from endless hordes of wolves.
In this situation, weaklings disappear quickly, so the alabai has transformed into a brutal beast weighing the same as an average man. A huge strong head, the muscles of an athlete, remarkable strength, a barbarian warrior from the world of dogs. External conditions, coupled with hard work, also influenced the dog’s character. An adult Alabai rarely plays; he is distrustful and ready to fight with any unfamiliar creature.
But what the Alabais do not have is boundless anger. They have never been cruel maniacs, because their purpose is to protect, not to kill. Alabai do not fight wolves to the death, they simply drive forest orderlies away from herds of animals. And the wolves themselves have no desire to fight such a colossus; they want to eat, and not risk their lives.
Walking his man.
Alabai approach their task with full responsibility. They form strong bonds with family members and their pets. And if you reinforce the inclinations of large dogs with responsible upbringing from early childhood, then the puppies will turn out to be seasoned and obedient professionals who, without hesitation, will lay down their lives to save your children.
