Good - bad. Everyone has become accustomed to this classification lately. But in fact, not all broccoli is equally healthy, and a slice of the coveted chocolate can be a salvation.

It seems that even babies already know that there is strength in vegetables. Abuse of fast carbohydrates provokes spikes in blood sugar, which is not healthy, and unhealthy food can cause diabetes, obesity, heart and vascular problems. That water is healthy, but coffee is not. And it’s better to eat dark chocolate rather than chemical milk chocolate.

The entire health industry forces us to monitor and filter the contents of our plates, baskets in the supermarket, refrigerator, stomach and, of course, our heads every day. In the pursuit of health, your wallet is quickly emptied, and life is flooded with panic: a feeling of guilt for eating a pie, a sausage, or a hungry look at ice cream yesterday.

In reality, you don't have to set yourself the mindset that lettuce, spinach, and quinoa are man's best friends. And everything harmful - fatty, fried, smoked, sweet - must be ostracized and excluded from life forever. The body is a balanced system. And he knows when he desperately needs a cake, and when he desperately needs a vegetable salad without dressing. You just need to listen more carefully to his signals.

The curse of hamburgers and pizza



Even the World Health Organization does not give strict prohibitions regarding food such as “strictly prohibited for consumption.” A recommends limiting not very healthy foods within the overall caloric intake. That is, nothing will happen from eating pizza once a week. And you can easily afford a couple of cakes a month without harm to your health.

Paradoxically, there is even a special direction of eating deviation - orthorexia, people suffering from which feel an acute obsessive need to eat only everything healthy, correct, useful. And they experience an acute sense of guilt, punishing themselves for a plate of fried potatoes or a pack of cookies with exhausting workouts and a strict diet.

The wellness industry, which is relevant in our time - a method of managing health through maintaining a healthy lifestyle, involuntarily (or consciously) forms in the minds of more than one generation strict attitudes regarding proper nutrition: cook only at home, choose products with the prefix “eco” or “bio”, refuse from junk food, etc.

Black and white world of food



Bad - good, black - white - this is an incorrect classification in relation to food. Food should not only saturate and provide energy, but also give joy, pleasure, and taste pleasure. And the lion's share of truly delicious food falls into the category of “bad” food.

But the light component of the diet also has its dark secrets. If you constantly eat spinach, you can get kidney stones due to the high content of calcium and oxalates. And ardent fans of broccoli run the risk of developing thyroid problems. And so on. That is, you cannot base your diet solely on a limited amount of even very healthy foods.

Just like you can’t eat only fast food or sit on boiled chicken breast and cucumbers for weeks. Because the body needs not only proteins and carbohydrates, but also fats to function properly. In addition, with a strict diet there will be a lack of vitamins, which will affect your condition and well-being.

So balance is required when choosing a diet. And also the pleasure of taste, which is even contained in the recommendations of the Ministry of Health of some countries. How do you find the balance between tasty and healthy?
