Straight to the military parade: armies of the world with the most unusual uniforms (13 photos)
Military men are always easy to spot in a crowd because of their soldierly bearing, posture and, of course, uniform. The ceremonial uniform stands out especially clearly. True, in some countries it has such an unusual appearance that you will not immediately believe that it is intended for the military.
And here are some examples.
Thailand is known for the fact that each day in this country corresponds to a different planet, deity or color. So it is not surprising that their soldiers dress in uniforms somewhat reminiscent of the uniform of the British Guards, in six or even seven different colors.
At first glance, the uniform of the Lebanese canine soldiers may seem quite ordinary. However, the peculiarity is that the military must constantly be on defense in order to avoid attacks from their own dogs, which can break loose in noise conditions.
It is difficult to imagine this collection without the military from the Vatican. Or rather, the protection of the Pope, since this country does not have a regular army. For these purposes, the elite mercenary corps of the Swiss Guard, which appeared in the 16th century, is involved. True, neither its purpose nor the uniform, designed by Michelangelo himself, has changed since those times.
The field uniform of the French army is not original, but the same cannot be said about the dress uniform. What attracts most attention about her is her wide white beret, which may give the impression that this is not the Marine Corps, but a line of cooks.
At the Ivory Coast parade you can see soldiers in quite traditional uniforms. One of them stands out with a very original coloring. She looks like the military is planning to get lost in a herd of zebras somewhere on the savannah.
But the Fiji honor guard is distinguished by its uniform with a torn skirt and a red jacket.
One cannot ignore the Indian border guards who are present at the parade riding on decorated camels. And they themselves walk around in such colorful uniforms that the event is more reminiscent of a circus performance by trainers.
True, they stand out at other times along with the Pakistani border guards, namely during the daily “Evening Dawn Ceremony.” Every day, the military of the two countries perform a complex ritual, wearing an unusual uniform with colored combs on their heads.
Soldiers from Iran also managed to stand out by wearing camouflage for the parade. With this camouflage, it is impossible to determine what kind of army is walking in front of you. It is worth noting that the choice of form is very strange for a state where the area is predominantly desert.
The South Korean Royal Guard wears yellow kimono-like robes and tall feathered hats. Despite the rather funny appearance of these elite fighters, no one doubts their combat effectiveness.
Well, we’ll end with the Greek honor guard guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Athens. Their uniform can hardly be called military, as are their movements, which are far from the military discipline familiar to many. But they will certainly be able to fulfill their direct mission.
Which form did you find the most fun?
