At the top of Mount Buzludzha, on the site of a historical battle of the Bulgarian rebels in Bulgaria, stands one of the most famous monuments of its time. This monument was called, like the mountain, Buzludzha and symbolized the coming victory of communism. But communism was a thing of the past, and this monument was abandoned. However, even today there is something to see here.
The memorial complex on Mount Buzludzha was once a large-scale museum, but is now turning into ruins.
He once looked impressive. The visible part of the monument is only the entrance group; the complex itself is located underground.
Thousands of volunteers contributed to the construction of this massive structure, which took almost seven years to complete.
Outside there are communist symbols.
From some angles the monument looks like a flying saucer.
The museum has long been closed and abandoned, but brave stalkers still sometimes sneak in there.
For 23 years the building has been slowly collapsing.
According to those who visited Buzludzha, the building is ready to collapse at any moment.
The interior of the museum is decorated with mosaics with communist symbols.
The halls of the museum have long been empty.
The mosaic panels are gradually being destroyed, but in some places the paintings can still be discerned.
The large-scale canvas is imbued with the spirit of futurism.
The mosaics are reminiscent of the art of the first years of Soviet power.
The portraits show Marx, Engels, Lenin.
No one knows how long Buzludzha will stand, but if the monument remains abandoned, it will not stand for long.
