Many people associate a museum with something boring, retrograde, uninteresting and old-fashioned. Perhaps such museums still exist, but mostly they are a thing of the past.

Today we want to introduce you to unusual and original museums, where you definitely won’t get bored. It’s interesting to be in them, because their creators are people who are passionate about their own idea. In one museum you will be filled with delight and surprise, in another you may experience mixed feelings, and in a third you will want to smile.

International Banana Club and Museum

A California resident opened a banana museum more than forty years ago. Obviously, Ken Bannister is a fan of these sweet yellow fruits if he decides to collect everything connected with them: pictures, various merchandise, toys, clothes, furniture, etc.

Hair Museum

In another US state, Montana, Independence resident Leila Cone collected real paintings and installations from hair. The collection even includes wreaths from two centuries ago.

Atomic Testing Museum

Las Vegas is not only a world famous city of casinos and entertainment. If you are passionate about technology or want to learn more about nuclear weapons, you can visit the Atomic Testing Museum. Here you will look at many gadgets, Geiger counters, radioactive devices and feel the power of nuclear weapons.

Telephone Museum

The owner and part-time sole employee of a small telephone company, Bob Riddell, founded a museum of all kinds of telephone devices in Minnesota. This lover of telephone technology managed to make his museum original and unique. To figure out how to use some devices, you need to thoroughly read the instructions, without which it will be difficult to call an unfamiliar device.

Shoe Museum

Many people do not know what to do with shoes that are no longer needed. Throwing away? Give it away? Give it to a second-hand store? Imelda Marcos figured out what to do with her shoes twenty years ago. Imelda accumulated hundreds of pairs of shoes when she was the wife of the President of the Philippines, but she herself was involved in government affairs and social activities, so she was in everyone’s sight. When she opened a shoe museum containing more than 800 pairs, her fame only increased.

Sewerage Museum

This museum is clearly not for everyone and is not for everyone. But for those who have a professional interest in a functioning sewer system laid two hundred years ago, or children who see themselves as inventors or builders in the future, it will be educational and interesting. You can go down into the tunnel and look at the pipes from the inside, albeit with an unpleasant smell, in the capital of France.

Museum of the Human Body

If as a child you wanted to travel through the organs and arteries of the human body, this is your opportunity. This museum was opened in a small town near the capital of the Netherlands. Visitors can step inside the impressive 35-metre tall man and, within an hour, visit the heart, walk through the kidneys, digestive tract and even see the inside of the brain. The museum will clearly demonstrate to you what happens inside the human body when he sleeps, blinks, yawns or sneezes.

James Bond Museum

12 years ago, a fan of the dude, ladies' man and lover of expensive cars, James Bond, created the world's first museum dedicated to this character, popular in the 20th century. Perhaps you, too, will bring your ideas to life when you retire, as the English pensioner did after finishing his dental practice.

Toilet Museum

If you liked the advertisements about changing times and toilets, then you should visit the Toilet Museum in Delhi. Indian biologist Bindestwar Pathak and other enthusiasts initially conceived the museum as an educational one. Educating about sanitation issues, he wanted to broadcast about hygiene through the museum. In India, many people are still unaware of how to use toilets because they do not have them in their homes. So gradually the museum’s collection grew to include toilets. Now among its exhibits are chamber pots and urinals from around the world, including a replica of the French king's toilet and a golden toilet specially created for Queen Victoria.
