Some of them are so unusual that when users see their photos on the Internet, they cannot believe their own eyes. I suggest you take a look at them and see how many of them you know.

The variety of creatures that surround us is amazing. Almost every year scientists discover new, fantastic species of animals, insects, fish and birds. But it’s not only the recently discovered species that can surprise. The earth is full of amazing creatures, the existence of which is truly difficult to believe. Reptiles are no exception.

Agama Mwanza

The red-headed rock dragon is one of the most colorful reptiles on the planet. For her unusual “suit”, which combines red and blue colors, she was nicknamed Spider-Man on the Internet.

Marine iguana

Marine iguanas are an amazing example of the adaptation of living creatures to environmental conditions. During their evolution, they learned to masterfully swim underwater, like crocodiles, and acquired sharp teeth that allow them to easily bite off even the toughest algae.

Gavial is a crocodile with a very interesting appearance.

Albino python, fourteen years old

Despite their menacing appearance, pythons are not capable of inflicting a poisonous bite on humans. Quite often, these snakes are kept as pets, purchasing special terrariums for them.

Legless lizard

Looking at the legless lizard, you might think that this is one of the varieties of snakes. However, it is not. It differs from snakes by the presence of movable eyelids and a special shoulder girdle. In addition, the animal has a completely different jaw structure.

Softshell turtles

Varieties of these turtles are characterized by the absence of the usual shell. Their back is covered with smooth skin or sparse horny spines.

Vulture turtle

It is one of the largest freshwater turtles. Its weight can reach from 8.5 to 60 kilograms. It has a rather aggressive character, so it is better not to disturb the animal again and not appear in its path.

Arizona snaketooth

From the name it becomes clear that this species of lizard is poisonous and potentially dangerous to humans. However, they themselves are quite timid, so they prefer to avoid encounters with all potential enemies.

The Komodo dragon is the largest lizard in the world

Abronia blue is an incredibly rare species of lizard.

Iguana anolis

King Cobra

King cobras grow throughout their lives. Therefore, it is not surprising that in nature there are extremely large individuals, reaching four meters in length.

Basilisk is a lizard that can run on water.

The frilled lizard is always proud and a little angry

African egg snake

Inconspicuous at first glance, snakes are famous for their aggressive nature and innate ability to plunder bird nests. The absence of teeth and the special structure of the vertebrae allow them to easily swallow large eggs.

Rhinoceros snake or Boulanger's long-nosed snake

The so-called “nose,” which is the first thing that catches the eye in a snake’s appearance, is in fact not a nose at all. These are just scales that have changed in the process of evolution and taken on such a strange shape.

Javan xenoderm

An unusual nocturnal reptile that differs from others by the presence of several rows of strange and widely spaced scales.
