A small selection of the first logos of world famous brands. Some have changed so much that they are almost unrecognizable.

Puma brand logo in 1948 and 2022

Companies that produce branded items, equipment and products spend millions of dollars annually on maintaining their image and advertising activities. No less attention is paid to the logo. A single image should accurately and concisely reflect the organization's goals, its values and the best qualities of its products. Combining all these characteristics in one picture is not an easy task. However, designers working for well-known companies have dealt with it successfully in the past and continue to do so today. Surely you will be curious to look at the first versions of the logos of brands familiar to everyone. Some have changed so dramatically that they are almost unrecognizable, while others have only changed colors and small details.

The first Apple logo was not at all similar to the world-famous logo. The image was a real work of art, in which many meanings were embedded. Over time, the company's owners realized that such a logo was not suitable for sale. After some time, a colored apple with a bite appeared, and much later the logo acquired a simpler and more modest design.

The history of the Starbucks brand logo is incredibly interesting. It started in 1971. Then several friends decided to open a coffee bean store in one of the shopping centers in Washington. The friends decided to name their store in honor of the hero of the American novel “Moby Dick” Starbuck, who was an assistant on the ship. The co-owners decided to continue to stick to the marine theme. That is why the mermaid Siren was chosen for the logo. An engraving from a 16th century book was used as the initial drawing.
