Dogs and wolves are close relatives, and in some breeds this connection is even visible visually. The first ones that come to mind are the Siberian Husky and the Alaskan Malamute, which really look like dangerous forest predators (fortunately, this is just a superficial resemblance).
But there are still dogs whose close ancestors actually have wolves. Sometimes it happens that predators recognize dogs as their relatives, and they have cubs. In addition, breeders are working to create a hybrid, crossing these close, but so different species. These works are very successful: this is how many wolf-dogs appeared. Among the deliberately bred pets is the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog; they also worked on such a cross in the USSR. But such pets are especially popular in North America. There is even a shelter in Canada where wolf-dogs live. In fact, this is a big problem: when people get such an animal, they cannot always cope with it, so these charming creatures may end up without a home.
