Many ideas look very cool on paper and during discussion. And sometimes even brilliant! And the birth of such an idea is an incredibly difficult creative work. But it doesn't get any easier. After all, all these ideas must also be brought to life with talent! In the case of our selection - into a film. And, alas, the performance let us down. These films received low and very stretched average ratings with extremely mixed reviews. And, ATTENTION, yes, there are films here that are very loved by those who saw the tube times of video rentals. However, we must take into account the statistics and breathe through our nose. For example, "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen." A whole platoon of excellent actors, an interesting setting of Alan Moore's comics and generally good box office. But at the same time, the film was negatively assessed by viewers and critics around the world... Yes, what do they understand! So, let's take a look at films that have a great concept but poor execution, according to average viewers. In your opinion, who is here undeservedly or who is clearly missing here?

In short (2017)

"That was my first thought. The beginning of the movie and the end didn't even feel like a movie. Great idea, but terrible execution by the 30th minute. I've never seen a movie's plot change so radically."

Time (2011)

"I just watched it last night. The idea of the film is extremely interesting."

"It's funny, but now it doesn't even seem like a concept to me. I got laid off a few weeks ago. The first thing I did was calculate my savings, potential future income and bills. And I can draw a very clear timeline that starts today and ends with homelessness in the future. Every day I wake up and feel like my clock is a little slow."

Wild Wild West (1999)

"Steampunk Western? Hell yes."

Teleport (2008)

"Cool idea of a secret society of teleporters and a twist where someone discovers their powers and comes into conflict with them. Wasted idea, and Hayden Christensen was terrible."

65 (2023)

"I went into the movie not expecting high art or anything. But if you look at it like this: 'Sci-fi where astronaut Adam Driver goes to prehistoric Earth with a space gun and fights dinosaurs.' I GUARANTEE it is the film could be extremely interesting. But it was uninteresting. Somehow they made this film incredibly boring. For some reason they introduced a language barrier between the only two people in the frame. It was terrible."

Eragon (2006)

"All they had to do was follow the contents of the damn books."

Burn, Burn Clear (2019)

"It feels like something is missing. Did the movie deliver what it promised? Evil Superman? Yes. Could it have been much, much better? Also yes."

Ender's Game (2013)

"Instead of trying to deal with child actors, we should have made an animated film."

Jurassic World: Domination (2022)

"Humans will have to coexist with dinosaurs, will they survive? yeah, who cares, let's talk about LOCUSTS"

"Watched it recently and was very disappointed. Damn, that trio's reunion [from the original Jurassic Park] was wasted on fucking locusts."

Cowboys & Aliens (2011)

"In my opinion, better than 3/10, but yeah, great idea and not so good execution. Someone should try again."

Passengers (2016)

"I always thought Passengers would have been much better if the fact that Chris Pratt's character deliberately woke up Jennifer Lawrence's character had been presented as a major plot twist in the finale."

Brightness (2017)

"The concept sounded amazing, and my friends and I were excited to check out Netflix's new TV show. Turns out it was a movie, not a series. The potential for exciting world-building was great, but it just couldn't be realized in two hours."

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)

"Sean Connery's talent was wasted. A very poor script. I would like to see the film remade."

Judgment Night (entire series)

"Brilliant concept. But why focus only on murder? If Purge Night happened in real life, I doubt murder would be the number one crime. I imagine most crimes would involve burglary or sexual assault."

Pixels (2015)

"Aliens attacking the planet using classic arcade games? What's the potential."

Hancock (2008)

"Hancock is two great concepts stuck in a bad movie."
