William's scientific works were written in a variety of fields, the child prodigy knew up to 200 languages, but at the same time he practically did not leave the house and tried to hide his genius.

There was a period when the parents forced the boy to play almost without a break, believing that only constant work would help him open up even more. He had no childhood, but at the age of eight he played Beethoven, Bach, Mozart and the musical community was amazed by his talent.
But such terrifying pressure on the boy’s psyche could not help but affect him and resulted in bulimia when he was nine years old. Adolescence only worsened his condition - he broke a very expensive instrument at the conservatory, and before an extremely important music competition he deliberately injured his hands.
At the age of 19, Alexey was recognized as one of the best pianists in the world. However, Sultanov fell into paranoia, became terribly afraid of death, was sure that he would die of a stroke... And at the age of 32 he suffered five strokes at once.
Alexey Sultanov was partially paralyzed and blind in one eye. He was able to partially recover, gave charity concerts, played with his healthy right hand, and his wife played the left hand part for him. Alexey Sultanov died in 2005, he was 35 years old.
