Quentin Tarantino is, without a doubt, a Hollywood legend, having established himself as a talented director and a brilliant screenwriter, creating unique, memorable images and films that are unlike the work of other filmmakers.

The only things more interesting than the films themselves are behind-the-scenes secrets, facts and Easter eggs from his own works.

The first Kill Bill movie features an epic fight between Gogo Yubari and The Bride. True, filming the battle did not go as smoothly as we would like. It turns out that Tarantino himself was hit with a ball on a long chain due to being too close to the camera.

He commented briefly on the incident itself: “it was painful.”

Tarantino really likes to punctuate scenes with certain music or songs. However, Reservoir Dogs is not full of musical variety. This is due to the fact that almost all the pledged money was spent on the composition playing during the torture of the policeman by Mr. Blonde.

It cost 10 thousand pounds sterling, with a budget of only 13 thousand dollars (the rate is approximately 1 to 1.18).

In the first part of "Kill Bill" there was Tarantino's personal yellow pickup truck with a bright sign "Pussy Wagon". However, it can be seen in films by other directors and even music videos. For example, in the work of Lady Gaga and Beyoncé.

True, the director himself rarely drives it because of its recognition. According to him, people immediately recognize the car and slowly and for a long time trudge next to it, wanting to talk to it.

But he also had another car - a red Chevrolet Chevy 1965. It was the car that John Travolta drove in Pulp Fiction. The most interesting thing is that the car was stolen during the production of the film. The criminal changed the license plates so well that it took the police 17 years to find the car and return it to the owner.

There's a scene in The Hateful Eight where Kurt Russell snatches Jennifer Jason Leigh's guitar and smashes it. According to the script, he should not have done this, since instead of a replica, a real antique guitar from the 1860s was used in the filming, the cost of which reaches 40 thousand dollars.

And again to "Reservoir Dogs". It turns out that Mr. Blue is played by a real criminal named Ed Bunker. The lack of acting training explains the fact that his performance on camera is rather strained and harsh. And he would be one of the most wanted on the FBI list for organizing robberies and for leading a large drug trafficking network.

In 2019, the film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” was released, which tells about, as hard as it may be, Hollywood in the late 60s. And it was based on a novel written by Tarantino himself. It took the director five years to write the book, which is an extended version of the movie. And the work was published later - in June 2021.

By the way, in this film there is an iconic scene with DiCaprio, where his character Rick Dalton, sitting in a trailer, is on the verge of a nervous breakdown after an unsuccessful filming of a TV show. In this scene, the actor begins to throw things and reflect on the fact that drunkenness led to his forgetting his lines.

This scene was not in the script, so Tarantino has two versions of the scene: the above-mentioned one and the one in which DiCaprio successfully starred in the TV show.

In general, almost no one has seen the script for this film. Tarantino allowed only Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio to read it in full.

The famous scene from Pulp Fiction, where Mia is pumped out of an overdose, was filmed backwards, which is why it looks as realistic as possible. Tarantino decided not to use a fake breastplate for Uma Thurman, but instead told Travolta to pull out the syringe and jerk his arm upward.

Well, let’s finish with Tarantino’s bright love of acting in his own films. It turns out that Quentin was planning to star in Kill Bill as Master Pai Mei. According to him, he abandoned this idea due to the fact that filming took too much effort and time. And thank God, because if his directorial talent is not in doubt, then there are still questions about his acting abilities. And Jia-Hui's performance was rated 5+ by the audience.

What do you think of Tarantino's work?
