They evoke a very strong response in the hearts of the audience, and one cannot help but watch them to the end.

Not every good movie is easy to watch. Very often, directors and screenwriters create a truly frightening and painful atmosphere, causing tears in the viewer.

They can make you think, rethink your life or some historical events. They talk about the human soul and what happens in it, in this very darkness.

"Hunting"

Director: Thomas Vinterberg

Genre: drama

Year of manufacture: 2012

It stars Mads Mikkelson, a Danish film star. He plays Lucas, a kindergarten teacher, and the kids love him. And the girl Clara falls in love with her teacher... Having received his soft but firm refusal, the girl comes up with a story that Lucas molested her. He is left alone against the whole city, where adults categorically do not believe that the girl could have made it all up.

The topic is relevant, difficult, and the film conveys it all perfectly.

A quality crime drama, the story of Harlan, a successful financier who causes an accident. He was sent to prison for a year and a half. "Road"

It is an adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's novel The Road.

Disasters occurred on the planet that left human civilization no chance of survival. Both plants and animals died. The son and father walk through this post-apocalyptic world, not losing hope for the best and escaping from the cannibals. The film creates a very depressing atmosphere, but you really can't tear yourself away from it.

"Bridge to Terrabitia"

Fifth grade student Jess Aaron hopes to become the fastest runner in his class. But his hopes are dashed when Leslie Burke comes into class and beats him in a competition.

Despite the obvious reasons for mutual antagonism, the guys manage to become friends. A fairytale forest in which they are king and queen, the magic of children's imagination and... death. A seemingly children's film, it touches on completely non-children's issues.

"Green Mile"

Director: Frank Darabont

Genre: drama

Year of manufacture: 1999

It is impossible not to empathize with the characters in this film. The amazing story of block "E", where prisoners sentenced to death are kept. The life of the block changes dramatically when a huge black prisoner is placed there, who seems to be a very good-natured guy, but the cruelty of his crimes is shocking.

The viewer becomes imbued with each character who faces inevitable death...

"Requiem for a Dream"

Director: Darren Aranofsky

Genre: drama

Year of manufacture: 2000

Who among us doesn't have a dream? The heroes of this difficult and honest film also have them. Gary and his friend Tyrone dream of being fabulously rich. Gary's girlfriend Marion wants her own fashion store, and Gary's mom, Sarah Goldfrab, can't stop watching the famous TV show and dreams of getting into it.

Each of them has their own path that they choose. It’s not obvious, it’s scary, and their lives are hopelessly crumbling...

"Where Dreams May Come"

Director: Vincent Ward

Genre: drama

Year of manufacture: 1998

One of Robin Williams' best roles.

A story about life after death. The entire family of the protagonist ends up in the afterlife, and the soul of his wife, who committed suicide, ends up in hell. Chris (that's the name of the main character) decides to follow his wife to a place from which he can never return. Death is something that is constantly present on the screen and this, of course, does not make the heavy feeling go away.

There are a few questions for the director; some people think that he went too far with squeezing out tears and a bit of pathos, but sometimes this film is worth reviewing in order to remember the most important thing that we have - life.

"Schindler's list"

Director: Steven Spielberg

Genre: drama

Year of manufacture: 1993

This is a truly heartbreaking film that will not leave anyone indifferent. It tells the true story of Oskar Schindler, a manufacturer and Nazi Party member who saved the lives of nearly 1,200 Jews during World War II. He does this at the risk of his own life.

A film about pain, suffering, the joy of liberation - everything is here in this film.

This is perhaps the best thing Steven Spielberg has created.

Write in the comments your examples of films that are hard to watch, but impossible to tear yourself away from. Let's make a selection of good movies.

“White Bim Black Ear” is deliberately not included in the list, because those who watched it understand that it is simply impossible to watch it again.
