TV series have made significant strides forward over the past decades: now they are not just soap operas or sitcoms based on the same script, but also high-quality stories, the telling of which would not fit into the rigid two-hour box office window. Showrunners are now trying to hook people not only with a beautiful picture, but also with screensavers. Let's remember the best.

"Heirs"

The series tells us about the Roy family, who own their own media empire. They are rich and powerful, but they also have their problems and dramas. The son must take over the leadership of the aging father, but first of all, the family will have to face its own difficulties: betrayal, intrigue, and everything that the rich and powerful are supposed to struggle with.

The series' intro almost immediately immerses us in the atmosphere of the series. It becomes clear that we are talking about rich families, where they spend time in houses with swimming pools, and the houses themselves are more like palaces. Where children are accustomed to luxury from a very early age. And at the same time, another world is shown - a world where big things happen for media empires. In addition, we are immediately introduced to the main character: an aged tycoon who decided to choose his heir.

"Game of Thrones"

The series, which at one time managed to bore many people. The fate of the houses of Lannister, Stark, Targaryen and others was followed by millions of people around the globe. True, the whole impression was blurred by the ending, but the score on the CP is consistently high - 9.0.

The opening sequence of the first season has become iconic. Sometimes it seems that this solution is simple and ingenious, but no one has thought of it before. And it was so simple: take it and create a model of a fantasy world where events take place. But here the viewer is not just an observer, like a black three-eyed raven. He also looks at the mechanical structures and fortresses of the Great Houses.

"American Horror Story"

In this series, each season is a separate story. The series has a whopping 7.9 points.

Therefore, each screensaver is different from one another, as is its musical accompaniment. In the first seasons, she really scares and makes you interested in what is happening. Whether she is beautiful is up to you to judge, but you are imbued with the spirit of what is to be seen with 100 percent accuracy.

"Friends"

This series has become a cult. Everyone watched the adventures of six young people who were building their lives in New York and hoped that Rachel and Ros would get together again and be happy. The rating on the CP is 9.2.

The screensaver seems to be very simple. Young people are just having fun in the fountain, but with each season, episodes from a specific season were added to it. And you can recognize the song from the first bars.

"Crown"

The series tells the viewer about the government of Queen Elizabeth II. It reflects all the main events that occurred from the moment the queen ascended the throne to the present day. Every two seasons the cast changes completely. The rating on the CP is 8.3.

The intro looks elegant and beautiful, and the music, which is calmer at first, reaches its climax towards the end. By the way, along the way to the screensaver we are shown a detailed crown.

"Dexter"

The story about a maniac, which has captivated millions of viewers around the world for a long time, is replete with murders and investigations. The main character works as a criminologist. But is it so easy when you are a sociopath? The rating on the CP is 8.2.

In the opening sequence, we are shown a detailed view of Dexter's morning. He shaves, has breakfast, drinks coffee, makes juice. But all this is somehow not real, somehow feigned. Just like his whole life.

"Westworld"

In the series itself, we are told about an adventure park in which robots live who can think and feel, almost indistinguishable from humans. You can have sex with them, kill them and destroy their houses. But at one moment one of the robots gains consciousness. The rating on the CP is 7.9.

The series' title cards change over time, which in the first season is very relative. It shows us the process of creating robots, what they can do, and hints at the final twist.

"Elementary"

Another adaptation of the Sherlock story, where Dr. Watson was played by Lucy Liu. Here, Sherlock is a drug addict who moved to New York, and Watson is his mentor, helping him cope with his addiction. The rating on the CP is 7.5.

In the intro, we seem to be shown Sherlock’s train of thought, where everything is laid out on the shelves and everything is clear and understandable. The same domino effect that will definitely lead to one or another consequence. The method of deduction is in the spirit of Sherlock.

"Hannibal"

The story is about that serial cannibal maniac, Hannibal Lector, played by actor Mads Michelsen. The story becomes more and more psychedelic with each season, and it’s even a little unfortunate that the project was closed without answers to all the questions. Even with a rating of 8.0.

The good thing about the screensaver itself is that it perfectly makes it clear what awaits us: a lot of blood, and from all this blood comes... a Man. Whether the identity of Hannibal or his forced partner is anyone’s guess.

"Mad Men"

A series about marketing geniuses from the 60s, it would be strange if it weren't done with style. In the series, advertisers suffer a kind of existential crisis against the backdrop of rapidly developing social life in the United States. The series' rating is 7.9.

And it would be strange if a series about the most stylish and influential people in America in the 60s were made ugly. In the opening sequence, an advertising agency worker takes his own life, suffering from depression, while his creations flash by. Short, catchy and tasteful.

"True Detective"

The first season of the series follows the story of two Louisiana detectives who are trying to solve an occult murder case, but their search for the truth stretches on for 17 years. And only after a while do the heroes find the true criminals. KP rating – 8.7.

The series' opening sequence is good. Double exposure, revealing characters through it, intricate connections. And all this to the soundtrack of Far from Any Road by The Handsome Family. Pure aesthetic pleasure.

"Twin Peaks"

A strange detective story about the mysterious murder of Laura Palmer, the mysterious Diane and the story of the quiet town of Twin Peaks. The series has deservedly become a cult favorite. His viewer rating is 8.5.

And it’s not even surprising that the screensaver has become a cult. Beautiful views, measured but mysterious music, strange stories. All this makes you feel the atmosphere and feel the indescribable influence of the series that it really had.

"Stranger Things"

The plot of the series has become somewhat mainstream - children from the 80s try to find their missing friend, live their teenage lives and fight a threat from another world. However, the series is highly regarded, with a rating of 8.4.

The screensaver is laconic: for a minute we are shown silhouettes of neon letters, and the music is intriguing. The perfect start to a mystical detective story.

"Narcos"

The series tells the story of the life and capture of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar. Interesting fact: the term “narco” in Latin America refers to drug traffickers, but in the United States this definition refers more to anti-drug officers. Rating – 8.4.

The series' intro contains real chronicles from Pablo Escobar's archives and Colombian chronicles, which introduce the viewer to the real power and might of the drug lord.

"The Sopranos"

The plot is loosely based on how Tony Soprano, a mob boss from northern New Jersey, faces and overcomes various life challenges: trying to balance the demands of a criminal organization with his personal life inside and outside his family. KP rating – 8.7.

In a stylish opening sequence, we are introduced to the main character as he drives through the streets of New York in New Jersey. This allows the viewer to see both the life of the metropolis and residential areas. And the main thing is the boss’s estate at the end of the cutscene and the contrast it has with the world around the hero in everyday life.

"Mindhunter"

It is not without reason that they say that Fincher is a genius of crime drama. This series tells the story of FBI employees who began to use psychoanalysis of criminals to create a psychological profile of criminals. The rating on the CP is 8.1.

In the intro, we are shown how detectives are preparing for an interview; periodically it flickers to scary footage, as if revealing the inner essence of the killers. Moreover, there are references to the next seasons! Stylish, scary, Fincher-esque.

These, of course, are not all series screensavers with beautiful and high-quality design. But the more the industry develops, the better quality it becomes.
