Because it seems to me that the higher the budget and popularity of a film, the more likely it is that the film will be boring. After (2012) 
Two survivors of a car accident find themselves isolated in a small town whose inhabitants have mysteriously disappeared. Further events make it clear to the heroes that something terrible is happening to the city and they need to try to unravel this mystery.
This film is not recommended for those who like a lot of action and bloody mess. But it has a creepy atmosphere and a mystery that needs to be solved. This is a good horror movie for those who don't like horror movies.
American Mary (2012) 
Mary Mason is studying to become a surgeon and has serious money problems. She has to grab any job. Working at a strip club seems like a good idea for Mary. But working as a stripper is not particularly successful. Shortly after starting her shift, she is asked to use her knowledge of surgery to help a man who has been tortured.
This horror film is made by a woman for women. The main feature of this horror is that the main character here is not just a stupid fool who got into trouble.
The Babadook (2014) 
When the Babadook was released, it received a lot of positive reviews. After all, the film is mysterious and really scary.
A single mother is raising her son alone. My husband died just before giving birth in a car accident. The child is already seven years old and has serious mental problems. Throughout the film it will be difficult to understand - is this real? Or is this nightmare the imagination of a seven-year-old boy.
Byzantium (2012) 
An unusual story based on the legends of vampires.
A woman and a teenage girl pretend to be sisters, but in reality they are mother and daughter. They seek refuge in a small town. But soon the residents learn the terrible truth about them.
Bastard (2014) 
There are only two actors in the film. Therefore, all attention is paid to their acting. A man gets a job as a videographer. He will have to film Josef, who has cancer, in order to leave the video as a gift for his child. The film begins terribly and in the future the atmosphere of anxiety and fear will only increase.
This film also has its own moral. Be careful who you invite into your life and who invites you into theirs.
Limbo (2013) 
A non-standard picture about ghosts.
1985 The girl Lisa is almost 16 years old. She lives with her parents and younger brother. Creepy things happen in the house, and the girl begins to think that the house is haunted.
And the Devil Appeared (2012) 
Mexican horror film.
A family of four goes on a day trip. After stopping to rest, the children go for a walk. But soon they disappear without a trace. The next day the children return, and the parents notice that something is wrong with them. Parents feel that their children have become victims of sexual violence, and the couple is trying to figure out on their own: What happened to their children?
House at the End of Time (2013) 
Horror from Venezuela.
The film takes place in two time periods. Dulce, a mother of two, finds herself in a difficult situation when her husband buys a new house. Mysterious things begin to happen, and the children behave strangely.
Thirty years later, Dulce is released from prison. She has nowhere to go, and she returns to this house. Dulce will have to find out what happened many years ago.
Houses built in October (2014) 
This horror film uses the technique of mockumentary or "found footage". Friends are looking for the scariest attraction this Halloween - a haunted house. And they find him. But the price you have to pay for the thrill will be too high.
I Saw the Devil (2010) 
Great Korean horror movie.
The daughter of a former police chief was kidnapped and brutally murdered. Her fiance vows revenge on the criminal. He begins to interrogate all the suspects until he finds the maniac. In pursuit of revenge, he himself will become a monster.
Kiss of the Damned (2012) 
A good film about a vampire who fell in love with an ordinary man. She fights with all her might so as not to drink his blood and kill him. The plot is certainly not original, but if you really want to watch a movie about vampires, then it will do just fine.
Last shift (2014) 
A creepy film with paranormal elements. The main character is a rookie police officer. On her first day on the job, she finds herself at a site that is about to close. All you have to do is wait for the truck to arrive to pick up the old evidence without dying.
Let's Hunt (2014) 
The film takes place in a police station in a small Scottish town. Again starring a rookie cop on his first day on the job. Strange things begin to happen when a mysterious man appears at the station.
Mercy (2014) 
This film is based on the Stephen King story "Granny".
Rebecca, a mother of two, must take care of her sick mother. She is the only one who can do this; the rest of the relatives decided not to strain themselves. But the sick mother turns out to be no ordinary old woman. The film "Mercy" plays on the childhood fears of older people.
Lake of Idols 
Girl Jenny goes to Italy to visit her father. She wants to spend time with him, but he is always busy. While exploring the surrounding area, she comes across the ancient Lake of Idols. According to local legends, this lake has healing properties.
Eyes of a Star (2014) 
Another horror movie with a moral.
The heroine of the film finds out what price she will have to pay to achieve success. Sarah is an aspiring actress. She doesn't have much luck with roles. But soon she will have to take part in strange auditions, after which she will finally get the main role.
EVIL (2012, 2013, 2014) 
The film trilogy is quite simple. The heroes find the videos and watch them. Creepy videos seem absurd, but while watching, something strange and incomprehensible happens.
When Animals Dream (2014) 
A look at werewolf legends from a different angle. The girl Mary lives with her father and sick mother on a small island. She has to take care of her mother and also get a job at a fish processing plant. Those around her do not like her, but Mary still manages to find her only friend - a young guy who delivers fish. She just wants to live normally. But people begin to die around her and Mary feels changes within herself.
What Would You Do (2012) 
The girl desperately wants to help her sick brother. She receives an interesting offer through her brother’s doctor, who says that one fund can provide financial assistance. She goes to a meeting and ends up in a creepy and depraved game with seven other participants. Now they have to “entertain” a rich and sick aristocrat.
