10 famous cartoon characters whose early versions looked completely different from what we are used to (9 photos)
Inspired by the appearance of Shrek from 1996, we decided to collect some more famous cartoon characters who once looked completely different from how we know them.
Recently, a 1996 video with a test animation of the cartoon “Shrek” went viral on the Internet. On it, a certain cartoon character, vaguely reminiscent of the famous ogre, walks funny and sings the song “I Feel Good.” It’s quite difficult to imagine that the entire Shrek cartoon could look exactly like this. But that’s why this is a development period, when the visual can change many times. And the end result will be very different from the original one.
Bugs Bunny
Bugs first appeared in the 1938 cartoon Porky Hunts the Hare.
Heroes of "South Park"
The first South Park short was released in 1992 and was called "The Spirit of Christmas" (or "Jesus vs. Frosty"). The characters in the 4-minute cartoon not only look different, their names are also confusing. Cartman was the boy in the orange hood, and Kenny was the widest one, and he also dies at the end of the episode.

Scar
Homer Simpson
On the right is Homer in the very first short, 1987's "Good Night!"
Uncle Fedor
BoJack Horseman
Rick and Morty
The cartoon was originally called "The Real Animated Adventures of Doc and Marty" and was an overt reference to the characters from "Back to the Future."
