Often, opponents of civilian gun bans conclude that almost any object can be used as a weapon, depending on the person's intentions. The same hammer can be used to build a house or to commit a crime. Sometimes even the most harmless objects can turn into weapons.

There are literally anecdotal stories that support this point of view and tell of unusual cases where crimes were committed with the help of... sauce. But how can an ordinary product become a weapon?

Tomato explosion

Ten years ago, a woman broke into a bank in Clinton, Michigan. She threatened employees, claiming that she had a radio-controlled bomb in her bag. After receiving the money, she left the bag in the bank, warning that she would blow it up if she was followed. However, sappers who arrived at the scene found only two large cans of tomato sauce in the bag. A suspect named Ophelia Amelia Neal was arrested a few days later and found guilty of bank robbery.

Sauce attack

An Alabama resident decided to rob a small local candy store. Instead of a regular weapon, he took an open can of soy sauce and splashed it in the face of a 73-year-old saleswoman. The woman was shocked by the surprise and irritated by the hot sauce, and a robber named Michael Briskey took advantage of this to steal money from the cash register. He was soon detained. Who would have thought that sauce could become a weapon?

Fire "boom"

The Sheetz family, which owns a chain of home coffee shops and shops in the United States, offers its customers a hot sauce called “Boom.” A group of teenagers, confronted by one person, decided to use this sauce as a weapon. They purchased a large amount of "Boom" and at night poured it over their victim from head to toe. Thanks to the cayenne pepper in the sauce, the victim's skin suffered burns. Apart from the mentioned cases where sauces were used as a joke, they can become serious weapons.

Unusual developments

Sauces, usually containing pepper, can be used as a weapon with undesirable consequences. In addition to pepper spray and projectiles used to disperse crowds during riots, there are other developments. For example, the VKS PepperBall Launcher rifle was developed in the USA. It shoots balls filled with a cayenne pepper-based sauce-like liquid. Such weapons do not cause fatal injuries, but can stop a troublemaker by causing burns to the eyes, respiratory tract and skin.
