An artist uses a neural network to bring historical figures to life (15 photos)
What would Napoleon or Mona Lisa look like if they were born at the end of the twentieth century? Digital artist Hidreley Diao creates portraits of historical figures as real as if he captured them with a modern camera.
The artist Khidreli takes as a basis historical figures, or rather, their most famous portraits or sculptures. From under his digital pen come incredibly realistic faces of generals, monarchs and artists. They look completely alive, as if they were actually posing for a photographer.
Historical figures often appear before us as demigods

They look like heroic figures that are hard to imagine in real life.
Emperor of Rome Marcus Aurelius
But they were very real people, so the artist adds this realism to them
Sandro Botticelli
The artist presents them as if they were living today
Rembrandt
For example, one of the portraits he likes most is George Washington
Napoleon also turned out to be incredibly deep: Khidreli says that he sees his soul in the picture
This is what Julius Caesar would look like if he lived today
Of course, the clothes of our time come to the rescue
Mona Lisa
Modern fashion doesn't say much about a person's social status

It helps even the king to look equal to all others
Caligula
Unlike the outfits of the past, lush dresses, exquisite toilets
