The Spanish and Italians were especially “inherited” in the cultural and political development of France. But who would have known that so many French people do not have French roots.

Napoleon Bonaparte was an ethnic Italian of Corsican descent. His family had Tuscan and Genoese roots. Perhaps no other Frenchman did as much to expand the territory of France as Napoleon Bonaparte did.

Emile Zola was born in Paris in 1840 to Francesco (later his father changed his name to François) Zolla and Emilie Aubert. Many sources indicate that his father was Italian, but in fact this is not entirely true. François Zolla was of Greek origin and worked for a long time as an engineer in Italy. Emile Zola's mother was still French.

The French singer-chansonnier and actor was born into the Italian family of Giuseppina and Giovanni Livi. The Livi family comes from the Tuscan commune of Monsummano Terme. It is noteworthy that Yves Montand owes his fame in large part to the singer Edith Piaf, who had Italian roots.

Jean-Paul Belmondo was born on April 9, 1933 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, a suburb of Paris. Belmondo's father, Paul Belmondo, was of Piedmontese and Sicilian descent.
