Technologies of the future that are about to come into our lives (6 photos)
The modern world is developing more rapidly than ever. Literally 30-40 years ago we could not even imagine that we would carry a computer in our pocket, where there was all the information available to the world.
Very soon we will see even more breakthroughs in the world of various technologies. They concern not only phones, but also a variety of areas - from household appliances to architecture. Here are five interesting ideas from the future.
Spray clothing
Manel Torres, a Spanish designer, invented the world's first spray-on clothing. It can be applied to any part of the body, then washed off and reapplied when needed.
It is made of special fibers mixed with polymers, they give the fabric elasticity and durability. The technology will allow designers to create truly unique garments with unique designs. I wonder if this technology will allow us to save natural resources? After all, clothing production causes one of the greatest damage to the environment.
5G Internet from drones with solar panels
Google is currently working on developing solar-powered drones that distribute ultra-high-speed Internet. The project is called Project Skybender. In theory, drones will provide Internet services 40 times faster than 4G - gigabytes of data per second.
This project provides for the use of millimeter waves to provide the service, because the spectrum for transmitting mobile communications that is currently too full. But these waves have a shorter range than the 4G mobile signal, but Google is just working on this problem and if it can be solved, then soon we will have an Internet of simply incredible speed.
Underwater tunnels
The world's first underwater floating bridges are planned to be built in Norway. They want to place them at a depth of 30 meters under water, using large pipes, wide enough to have enough space for two strips.
In Norway it is quite difficult to navigate the terrain and this is what prompted the idea of this project. $25 billion has already been spent on it and construction is planned to be completed by 2035. Many factors need to be taken into account: strong currents, the influence of wind and waves.
5D discs
Eternal storage of terabytes of data. Researchers have created a 5D disk that records data in 5 dimensions that lasts for billions of years. Such a disk can store 360 (!) terabytes of data and withstand temperatures of up to 1000 degrees.
The files on this disk are made from three layers of nanodots. The five dimensions of the disk refer to the size and orientation of the points, as well as their position within the three dimensions. And when light passes through the disk, the dots change the polarization of the light, which is read by a polarizer and a microscope.
The disc is being developed by a company from Southampton and they were able to record Newton's Optics, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Bible and the Magna Carta on it. In just a few decades, such a disk will become not an experiment, but a completely ordinary data storage.
Bio refrigerator
The designer proposed an interesting concept for a refrigerator, which he called "Bio Robot Refrigerator". It cools food using biopolymer gel. No shelves, no doors, no compartments - food simply fits into the gel.
Designer Yuri Dmitriev developed the concept of this refrigerator for the Electrolux Design Lab competition. It will only use 8% of the house's energy for the control panel and doesn't need any energy for actual cooling.
The gel will use light generated at cold temperatures to preserve food. It is odorless, does not stick, and the refrigerator itself can be installed on the wall and even on the ceiling.
