Old wooden houses and summer cottages: collection of photographer Fyodor Savintsev (31 photos)
Photographer Fyodor Savintsev has found an interesting professional niche for himself - as a hobby, he searches for and photographs old dachas in the countryside, a variety of wooden houses and houses. He already has an amazing collection!
Fedor Savintsev is an experienced photojournalist. He has worked with such agencies as Agence France Press, Associated Press, TIME, New York Times, The Guardian, Le Monde, Forbes, Newsweek, GEO Russia, Russian Reporter, Esquire.
Since 2011, Fedor Savintsev has been more involved in his own projects and this project is one of his favorite and relatively new ones. The idea came by chance when Fedor temporarily moved to his parents’ dacha due to the pandemic. Childhood nostalgia prompted him to start collecting interesting country architecture.

“First, I made a big project about the folk architecture of garden houses “6 acres” in the Arkhangelsk region,” says the photographer. “I was inspired by the process of painting unusual houses. Returning to the Moscow region, I began to explore ancient village villages and found many houses with unusual architecture, began catalog them, they were included in the project "Kratov's Dachas", which was exhibited at the end of summer at the Shchusev State Museum of Architecture.
According to Fedor, he travels a lot and during these travels he comes across many old cottages. What attracts him most is “pre-revolutionary architecture - elegant houses with thoughtful layouts and decorative aesthetics.”
