When choosing a movie to watch, it can be useful to read critics' reviews and look at the film's rating to decide whether it's worth spending a few hours of your life on it or whether it's better to look for something else. Here, for example, is a list of the worst films of all time, according to Rotten Tomatoes.

1. "Mac and Me" (1988). Rotten Tomatoes score: 4%

Not only is it a poor imitation of the movie E.T., but it's also essentially a 99-minute commercial for Coca-Cola and McDonald's.

The film is about an alien named Mac (meaning "Mysterious Alien Creature") who befriends a boy in a wheelchair named Eric Cruz. Together, Mac and Eric embark on a journey to find Mac's family. Although (and perhaps because) this film is considered one of the worst ever made, it has now become a cult classic.

2. “Valuable cargo” (2016). Rotten Tomatoes score: 0%

Sometimes, even if you manage to attract a big actor to the movie, the project will still fail. Such is the case with the 2016 film Precious Cargo, starring Bruce Willis. The film follows Eddie Philose (played by Willis), who convinces a thief named Jack to steal diamonds in exchange for the woman who wronged him. Critics called the film a nightmare, the acting "disappointing" and the script lacking in polish.

3. "Jaws: The Revenge" (1987). Rotten Tomatoes score: 3%

The film is known as Jaws 4 and is the third sequel to Steven Spielberg's Jaws, released in 1975. The problem with sequels is that they are never as good as the original, and Jaws 4 is a complete The film is about widowed Ellen Brody (played by Lorraine Gary), who believes that a great white shark is trying to take revenge on her family, chasing them all the way to the Bahamas. Critics called the film incredibly stupid, empty, bloody and pointless.

4. "Pinocchio" (2002). Rotten Tomatoes score: 0%

The story about Pinocchio is generally quite creepy if you read it and think about it, but here the problem was not in the story, but in the film adaptation. Interestingly, Pinocchio is played by Roberto Benigni, who won an Oscar for Best Actor in the 1997 film Life is Beautiful. That's it - you don't have to do it once in a while.

5. "The Gotti Code" (2018). Rotten Tomatoes score: 0%

While John Travolta gives the picture above a thumbs up, The Gotti Code only deserves two thumbs down. In this film, Travolta plays New York gangster John Gotti. The film was a huge disappointment both commercially and critically. Its production budget was $10 million, but it only grossed $6 million worldwide.

6. "The Baseball Player's Wife" (1985). Rotten Tomatoes score: 0%

Starring Michael O'Keefe and Rebecca De Mornay. The film is about an Atlanta Braves baseball player who falls in love with a singer and considers her his good luck charm. The singer is concerned about her husband's constant need for her presence and decides to leave him to focus on her career. Although the film is called a romantic comedy, critics rated it as completely unfunny and very stupid.

7. "Master of Disguise" (2002). Rotten Tomatoes score: 1%

Dana Carvey is a renowned stand-up comedian who spent seven seasons as a cast member on Saturday Night Live. In theory, a film with his participation simply has to be funny, right? But no. The film is considered one of the worst comedies of all time. Its only decent components are the costumes and makeup.

8. “Such different twins” (2011). Rotten Tomatoes score: 3%

This is another example of a movie with a star-studded cast that didn't help it. Starring Adam Sandler and Katie Holmes, with Al Pacino in the episode. The film tells about the relationship between brother and sister - Jack and Jill. Both are played by Adam Sandler. Reviews for the film were mostly negative. One reviewer named Brian Gill wrote: "I'm not saying we should take away Pacino's Oscar for this movie. It's not a bad idea though."
