Brush-eared pig: Evil pigs that are terrorizing Africa (8 photos)
I don’t understand why people still haven’t appreciated all the warlike power of the pigs? They are not afraid to put a predator on the fang.
They will not hesitate to kill for food. Heck, even the Romans used them as a fighting unit, what are we even talking about! But the brush-eared pigs surpassed all their relatives. All of Central Africa is suffering from their terror. And no one can do anything to them!
But you can’t tell from an animal that it is capable of cruelty. Their appearance evokes strong associations with a lazy and benevolent gentleman. A weight of 120 kilos indicates punctuality in terms of meals. Chic sideburns add a noble look. And long tassels add a bit of frivolity. But this is just a cute image that never corresponds to reality.
Just look at him - sheer nobility!
In fact, the brush-eared pig is a brutal fusion of muscle and fury. The animals also use their main weapon—the fangs—for peaceful purposes: they loosen the ground in search of roots and tubers. But God forbid you anger the pig - the beast will plant its feather under your rib without a second thought. For reference: it’s easier to piss off a pig than to argue with an old lady at the clinic.
Calm, just calm.
Previously, the endless aggression of pigs was restrained by the leading meat-eaters of the region: lions, hyenas and leopards. But human civilization has inflicted terrible damage on these animals. Therefore, the pigs began their expansion. Now all the farmland between Senegal and the Democratic Republic of the Congo suffers from systematic raids by grunting insolents.
The second name for the brush-eared pig is river pig. The animal loves ponds very much.
In general, when meeting a predator, the brush-eared pig prefers flight to attack. But, bad luck, the little pig doesn’t perceive people as danger. In addition, the grunt does not walk alone, but in the company of 15-25 similar individuals. Such a gang of pathetic people are not at all afraid of the word.
Tortured several farmers? You can also sleep!
African farmers have no choice but to hide themselves and hide their livestock. Why hide animals? Oooh, you underestimate the destructive power of our hero. When enraged, the hellish pig can easily kill a domestic pig, goat or sheep. If the hoofed demon does not find a victim, he will take out his anger on the fields: he will bite everything and trample on it.
But even with such wayward creatures you can come to an agreement. Feed the gang some choice slop, and they will almost certainly not be interested in your inner world.
Pigs join the army of raiders in January. At this time, females are desperate for affection. The alpha male not only has to devote time to romance the ladies, but also protects them from strangers. Any boar that comes can take over his harem. 130 days after love games, the female gives birth to 1 to 6 wonderful and very capable piglets. In just a couple of hours they will be on their feet, and after 2 months they will refuse milk feeding.
The battle for respect (and ladies).
They will spend 2-3 years in their native pack. However, males who are unsure of themselves can linger under the wing of the father. The older generation of children will take care of their younger brothers and sisters until they themselves want to become mothers and fathers.
Ha, and even after 18 years you are sitting on your parents’ necks, you mediocrity!
My assessment of the brush-eared pig: 7 angry farmers out of 10. The impudent creature causes significant harm to the economies of African countries, but people are unable to do anything worthwhile. Even a hunting permit helps little.
