Law enforcement officers carried out a typical raid for Calabria. They were searching one of the cannabis farms there. To complete the picture, they were missing something, and then they decided to look into the local outbuildings.





And then the police discovered something very unpleasant. Namely, frozen dormouse carcasses.



Not Marmeladovs, but small rodents no more than 17 cm in length and weighing no more than 150 grams.

There were more than two hundred of them in total.





And then the police concluded that this was a mafia farm. How?



Very simple. The fact is that the mafia holds animals in high esteem. They are considered a delicacy and are served at banquets where big bosses make big decisions. And they eat small rodents, yes.

Moreover, it was even possible to establish a clan of aesthete planters. This is the 'Ndrangheta. Why?

But because a group of serious guys has been on the radar of animal rights activists for a long time. The fact is that hunting for dormouse is prohibited, rodents are a protected species, and animal rights activists are fighting the mafia in the matter of eating animals.



And since the 'Ndrangheta is also one of the largest suppliers of cocaine to Europe, the police also agree with them. Therefore, three petty criminals were detained for killing animals.

In addition to the dormouse carcasses, the plantation also contained over 700 marijuana plants. So it becomes possible to increase the deadlines as soon as possible.



By the way, dormouse was used back in the Roman Empire. True, then no one caught them, and rich aristocrats kept them in cages and fattened them up to be slaughtered just before dinner. And now they are eaten with pleasure in Croatia.
