Guilty pleasure phenomenon: pleasure for which you are ashamed (9 photos)
Each of us has our little weaknesses. With the advent of social networks and the love of people to condemn for the sake of condemnation, a concept has appeared that can be translated as “guilty pleasure.”
Usually, the concept of “guilty pleasure” hides innocent pleasure: husking sunflower seeds, playing games on the phone like “balls in a row,” reading pulp novels and stuff like that. This is the absolute norm for most people, but many may feel embarrassed about such things.
For example, if a girl from a family of professors, who graduated with honors from the conservatory, reads Daria Dontsova and becomes sad while listening to the songs of “Tender May,” then this is her guilty pleasure. She is simply ashamed to admit this, realizing how society can condemn her. There is no specific list of such things, because they are unique for everyone.
People anonymously shared their guilty pleasure.
Face cleaning
Videos of people having their blackheads squeezed out bring pleasure to an incredible number of social media users. They say that such videos really calm them down, that while watching they experience a mixed feeling of disgust and relaxation, and can hang out on these videos for almost hours.
Reality show
Shows that show very fat people, or the life of the Kardashian family, or “Battle of Psychics.” We all understand that this is terribly primitive and staged, but many simply cannot deny themselves this pleasure. Viewers of such shows explain their addiction by saying that it really relaxes their brain after a hard day at work.
Leopard print
"I feel guilty because not everyone likes leopard print."
Animal prints in clothes have long been considered bad taste in society. But if you like it so much that you don’t have the strength?!
Nail biting
"I'm worried because my nails look ugly."
“Ugh, how ugly”, “What are you, how small?”, “Do you have problems with your nerves?” - that's what those who like to put their fingers in their mouths hear. But let's face it, it's their nails, their fingers, and their love of chewing.
Watch and re-watch primitive cinema
Similar to reality TV. Films like "Twilight" or "50 Shades of Gray" are admittedly vulgar, but they are not overloaded with deep meanings and a lot of subtexts. You can just lie on the couch with tea and chocolates while listening to them, and giggle at the acting and script assumptions. The pleasure is received! And the feeling of guilt too)
Fast food
Now, in the era of healthy eating and a responsible approach to what is in the refrigerator, the love of fast food has become something reprehensible. But even restaurant chefs admit their love for McDonald's fish sticks, or shawarma.
Music
Few people admit that they clean very well while listening to the song “Faina-Faina”, “White Roses” or Morgenstern. Or so I think. Or it's working. Or dancing. The simple melody and unpretentious lyrics are not aimed at touching the delicate strings of the soul. It's just easy music.
In general, any hobby that does not harm you or others and is within the framework of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation is not shameful. But for many, social networks, unfortunately, dictate the rules of life; a person can be condemned simply for the fact that he likes to watch “Friends” for the eighth time.
Since everything here is anonymous, then share your guilty pleasure, surely many will support you in your innocent hobbies.
