In addition to the world we are used to, there is also a microworld. Millions of tiny creatures from this world live according to their own law; for them we are just food or a home. These creatures can cause unbearable pain and severe discomfort to a person.
These creatures live near humans and can cause irreparable harm to health. The worst thing is that until the very end you may never find out who harmed you. For those who are especially impressionable: please close the post and go get tested. Just in case.
Hookworms
Tiny hookworm larvae live around us and try to get inside our body. If you walk barefoot on the grass, these creatures can enter the blood vessels through the skin, and from there into the digestive tract. In the intestines, hookworms grow teeth and eat us from the inside. Getting rid of them is not so easy; this can only be done under the supervision of doctors. It doesn't sound very pleasant, but in fact there are creatures that are more terrible.
Midges
These insects, only 4 millimeters long, can smell the scent of a human body 10 kilometers away and fly in a whole crowd to it. Do you think we're talking about urban midges? No, compared to the black midge, urban insects are just cuties. Black midges that live in taiga forests can eat a person in a couple of days. There have been cases in history when Siberian atamans left offenders tied to a tree, and two days later they found only bones and a whole cloud of midges.
Vandellia - mini fish
These fish grow to only a few millimeters in size and have a transparent body. They live in the fresh waters of the Amazon and prefer places where there are many mammals. These fish react to urea. Vandellia can enter the body of an animal (even a person) through the urinary canal of the genital organ. In the urinary canals, these fish open hooks and tear tissue. This is very painful. Vandellia feed on blood until the death of the organism. More often, they die along with the mammal. A person can only get rid of the parasite through a complex operation.
Subcutaneous worms
If you happen to end up in Africa or Yemen, be on your guard. Do not swim in local waters or drink any water other than bottled water. Along with the water from the pond, you can pick up fleas, which in turn are infected with worms. These worms enter the body of mammals and feed on blood until they grow to 1.5 meters. When the worm grows large, it looks for a way out. Most often it is the leg. The worm can crawl out within a month, causing pain.
Chalcids
Chalcids are tiny insects that look like cute little flies. I assure you, this is only in appearance. In fact, chalcids are caring mothers who lay eggs in the bodies of mammals, including humans. The larvae live in the body for several weeks and then rush out. As a rule, they often have to chew their way out. Sometimes chalcids lay eggs in the ear canal, and then the larvae can fall out of the ears, or gnaw a path to the brain. Here they will die, of course, but they will take your life with them.
Wohlfart fly
Another disgusting insect is the Wohlfarth fly. Adult insects are approximately 6 to 10 mm long, larvae from 5 to 7 mm. These flies lay larvae in mammals, where future flies grow by leaps and bounds. The larvae infect living tissue of the ears, eyes, mouth or nose. As you guessed, these larvae feed on meat, gnawing through entire passages inside the animal. The affected area is swollen and very painful.
