Children are the flowers of life. When they say the first word, the parents are happy, and then they are endlessly upset. After all, they often chat, and chat incessantly. They also constantly ask questions that are difficult not only to answer, but to answer in a way that is clear. We have collected the most common children's questions and answers to them.

Why the sky is blue?

Parents are often confused when they first hear this question. And many answer: well, because it’s blue...

But even if you don’t work in the field of optics, you can remember the school physics course.

Light is made up of 7 mixed colors (and this is where the rainbow comes in): red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.

So, the rays of the sun have to break through the thick atmosphere of the earth, and not all flowers succeed in this. But the blue one turned out to be the most persistent. And if your child asks what atmosphere is, tell us about that too. After all, the more a child knows, the better.

Why do insects exist?

If mom and dad are constantly fighting cockroaches, midges and mosquitoes, then why are they needed at all? It would seem a logical question, but a child should know that every creature on this planet really needs something.

Some cockroaches eat decaying materials, but many other animals - frogs, birds and even dragonflies - feed on mosquitoes. And without them there would be no chocolate.

Where does snow come from?

A pressing question, the answer to which can also be remembered thanks to school knowledge. But here you will have to arm yourself with a piece of paper and a pencil and make a little artistic effort. Although if you can explain everything in words, you really are a pedagogical genius.

So, water from rivers and seas evaporates, steam rises into the atmosphere. We see the same process when water boils in a saucepan, into which we then throw pasta or dumplings.

Already high above our head, droplets of steam connect and then fall on our heads in the form of rain. If it's cold outside, the drops freeze and turn into snowflakes.

Why is the grass green?

Again, we return to the school curriculum and remember the sixth grade. All wildlife must eat. And plants also fall into this category. Plants just have their own “porridge”: sunlight, water and carbon dioxide. To process these same substances, plants have a helper: chlorophyll. And because of its abundance in plant cells, they are green. Otherwise, how else to absorb sunlight?

Chlorophyll doesn't have to be called that. If the child is 2-3 years old, you can say that it is something like blood, like a person's, which is why the skin is pink.

Why did dinosaurs become extinct?

Many children are interested in dinosaurs and one way or another want to become archaeologists. But how can you explain to your child that he will never ride a living dinosaur? We will have to explain that science has several versions of what happened with the huge lizards.

The most popular and most likely one is that a large asteroid fell on Earth, which significantly affected both the climate and all animals: then not only dinosaurs, but also many other prehistoric species died due to the impact.

There is also a possibility that the climate on Earth simply changed: dinosaurs were unable to adapt to the drop in temperature, there was less food, and they eventually died. Cruel, but true.

Why does the wind blow?

First of all, you need to decide what wind is in the baby’s understanding. Cold dense air tends to be less dense and warm. That is, the movement of air is the wind.

Typically, the wind blows in a horizontal direction, but sometimes it can blow in a vertical direction. It is also influenced by the features of the landscape: while in a city there may be almost no wind, then, for example, in an open field or near large bodies of water it will be much stronger.

Why is my heart beating?

Many adults answer this question differently. Some say that the heart is a drum that can be heard by placing your hand on your wrist, while others compare it to a motor. But it would be best, if the child already understands a little how a person works, to tell him that the heart is a muscle, like in the arms and legs.

Only the heart strains on its own.

Why do we hear echoes?

To explain this phenomenon, you can take a bowl of water and a pebble. After all, as you know, sound travels in space in waves. Almost the same as at sea. And if the sound wave encounters an obstacle, it is bounced back.

That's why we hear an echo: it's like a reflection of sound.

True, not all surfaces are capable of returning sound: some of them absorb sound. But in the mountains, in rooms without furniture and in the arches of houses, there are no such absorbers, and we hear an echo.

Why do different parts of the world have different times?

So we get to the question in which the child will have to explain the movement of the planets and the sun... Especially if your parents live far away, and on New Year’s they call to congratulate you two to three hours before the year comes for you.

It would be best to take a lamp and a small ball. And thus show how the earth moves and why it is divided into 24 time zones. They are also shown on the globe using the 24 meridians. Here it will be necessary to say that each of these lines has a time difference of one hour.

And each time zone has its own serial number. The Greenwich meridian is the prime meridian, and if you move from it to the right, the number of hours will increase.

Where do mom and dad get their money? Why can't they just be printed?

If you were asked about money,

and your last name does not end with -man, -berg or other endings, you should ask your wife a question,

This means that you have a future economist growing up. So, educate your child to be financially literate.

When asked where mom and dad get their money, it will be enough to say that it is gratitude for useful and important things. And even many adults here don’t understand why it’s impossible to print so much money so that there’s enough for everyone.

But the whole point is that you can turn to economics and the history of the emergence of paper money. Although the information will be somewhat outdated, it will give a general understanding.

Each country has its own gold reserves. But receiving money in metal coins is inconvenient, so in all countries of the world it was decided to use such tickets. If you print more pieces of paper than the country has gold, their value will drop significantly. And in the end you will have to go to the store with carts of money. Do you really want to carry a cart with you everywhere?

Why are boys different from girls?

Here it is worth answering not in the vein of “girls like pink, and boys like blue,” but as it really is: the bodies of girls and boys are different, and this applies not only to people. After all, a boy can like dancing, and a girl can like football.

In such cases, various children's encyclopedias and atlases about human physiology, which describe biology, can come to the rescue. If the child is still too small for this, it can be described in general terms: most females give birth, and most males give them the material necessary for this. Typically, this answer will be sufficient. And then - atlases.

Why don't people fly?

There is no need to laugh at such a question: after all, you can answer it as it is and talk about the structure of the wings. And if the child is interested in why wings are needed for this, you can tell that there is a force of gravity that prevents a person, a house, a tree, and even water from flying away from the Earth.
