A dog that hasn't changed at all in tens of millions of years (6 photos)
She is very funny, ridiculous and sweet. and deserves you to look at it.
This is a very kind creature that belongs to one of the species of endangered animals. Due to constant deforestation, they are forced to constantly migrate and die due to lack of food. Now there are 15 thousand of them all over the world.
And by the way, it is found in ancient epics, fairy tales and stories, there is even information dating back three million years ago, found skeletons and skulls speak about this. In general, it resembles an ordinary mongrel, only with short legs. And from the side of the muzzle it looks like a small bear.
An interesting feature: the dog has webbed paws, which suggests that its ancestors were waterfowl. And the bear dog’s jaws are very strong; it does not chew food, but swallows it in pieces. She is only 30 cm high at the withers, with a short tail. The dog hides well in bushes or under large leaves. By the way, hence its official name: bush dog.
This bear cub lives in Central and South America, always in forests and closer to water bodies. Sometimes you can see the animal near pastures, near farms and sparse areas.
It digs a lair for itself in loose soil, and can also move into abandoned holes (“the house is free, live as you wish”). The dog is an excellent swimmer and loves fry and waterfowl.
By nature, the animal is very sociable; when meeting, it does not show aggression, but on the contrary, it pokes its nose in curiously, everything is interesting to it.
There are frequent cases when local residents tamed a dog and used it as a hunting dog, because by nature it is endowed with simply unique maneuverability in the most difficult places: thickets, swamps, deep gorges.
The bush dog is listed in the Red Book. Hunting for it is prohibited, the only exception being an outbreak of rabies. There are three subspecies of dogs in the world, they differ in size and shades of color.
