Why are Labradors so popular all over the world, and what nuances should you know about the breed before finally settling on it? 
Recently, these dogs have consistently ranked among the top ten most popular breeds. They are sociable, hardy, smart, and people-oriented. And this is not a complete list of their qualities. The Labrador Retriever was originally bred as a gun dog. These dogs have a so-called soft grip (mouth), which allows them to carry various objects, including game, without damage. The dog will calmly bring the egg without crushing the shell. 
But unlike other hunting breeds, for example, greyhounds or hounds, their instinct to search for prey does not dominate their mind. Representatives of this breed are able to remember about 200 commands and several dozen routes. That is why most guide dogs for the blind, as well as caregivers for immobile people, are Labradors.
After a special training course, the dog can be safely trained to act as a guard. High intelligence even allows him to make optimal independent decisions in a critical situation. The retriever is not overly aggressive, so it will not attack. But he will defend the object with all his might, even to the point of costing his own life.
Unpretentiousness and the ability to swim well allow dogs to be used in rescue operations on water, and their excellent sense of smell allows them to be used when working at customs and in the police.
As already mentioned, the dog is very sociable, and children adore it. These feelings are mutual, and the dogs not only tolerate the antics of the younger family members, but actually play with the children sincerely and from the heart, experiencing no less pleasure. And given its impressive dimensions, the dog, if trained, will become an excellent nanny, under whose supervision it will be possible to leave the children in the yard.

The main point that must be taken into account when choosing is the need to devote a really lot of time to your pet, since alone he will be sad, disgraceful, yearning and feel like an unhappy dog.
