Snakes are amazing creatures. Dangerous, beautiful and mesmerizing.
These reptiles have their own record holders. They themselves are not even aware of their achievements, but still among these creatures there are their very best.
The most disheveled
The spiny bush viper can claim, if not the title of the most beautiful, then certainly the most unusual snake. This appearance is provided by curved and raised scales resembling leaves.
Thanks to its specific appearance, it is perfectly camouflaged in trees (and it lives in Central Africa). It is poisonous, but keeps its distance from people and does not attack unless necessary. It comes down mainly in the dark to hunt small animals.
The most poisonous on land
The inland taipan (aka McCoy's taipan) can kill several dozen people with one bite. This snake is so poisonous. It lives in the desert, is well camouflaged, and does not demonstrate any particular aggression towards people.
The most massive
Anaconda is a real giant of the snake world. Entire legends have been written about it, and these giants obtain food through physical strength: they wrap rings around the victim and strangle.
The anaconda is often called the longest snake, but this is not true. She is still a record holder for body weight. The maximum weight has not been established precisely, but it is possible that it may exceed a hundredweight. That is, a creature several meters long exceeds the weight of a large man. It is capable of attacking a person, but usually this happens in self-defense.
The most poisonous
Representatives of sea snakes are still more poisonous compared to land snakes. And the palm among them, as well as among all snakes, in principle, in this indicator belongs to Belcher’s snake. Found in the Pacific and Indian oceans. It does not enter into confrontation with people, but if it gets caught in fishing nets, it is quite capable of biting.
It is small in length, no more than a meter. The main source of food is shellfish and fish that live in coral reefs. While lying in wait for prey, the snake can spend several minutes under water.
The longest
The reticulated python still outstripped the anaconda in length. They weigh less, and because of their greater length, they look more graceful than their peers. Although not very common, reticulated pythons can attack people.
The Guinness Book mentions a 10-meter specimen. But the record was recorded at the beginning of the century, and many question it. Among the modern results, there is an indicator of 7.7 meters, which in any case exceeds the length of the longest anacondas.
