There are countries that can be covered on foot in a couple of days.

But the power of a state cannot be assessed solely in size. The influence of a country can be big for the whole world, even if it is tiny and barely visible on the map.

Nevis

It can hardly be called a full-fledged state; it is rather an island that is part of another state called Saint Kitts and Nevis. Its peculiarity is that Nevis can secede from the state at its first request. The island's population is only 12,107 people.

Nauru

Total 10,080 people. There are more men here than women, but the trend is positive - the population is constantly growing and the birth rate has significantly exceeded the death rate over the past few decades.

Tuvalu

The country's population is only 9,652 people. But this is general data that includes emigrants, temporary workers and other people who have recently crossed the border but do not have permanent registration. There are approximately 400 of them, so the "honest" population is just over 9,000 people.

San Marino

The population of the state is 32,099 people. The average age of the residents of this tiny town is 39 years. Documentedly, San Marino is a republic, which is the oldest state in Europe.

Niue

A little-known island nation in the South Pacific Ocean. It has a political and economic connection with New Zealand. Today about 1,400 people live in Niue. The economy, jobs and standard of living are forcing locals to emigrate to New Zealand.

Cook Islands

This state consists of several islands in the Pacific Ocean. They have economic and political ties with New Zealand. Today, about 5,000 people live on the islands, who, by the way, do not have passports of this state - they are all citizens of New Zealand.

Palau

Another paradise in the Pacific Ocean. Like the Cook Islands, it is an island system. 21,000 people live here, 92% of whom are literate, which indicates a high level of education.

Liechtenstein

A country of stability - they have virtually no population decrease or increase. 36,923 people are the population of Liechtenstein and this approximate number has been maintained for decades.

Order of Malta

The order includes only 13,000 people. It is interesting that state volunteers are citizens of other countries and their number exceeds 80,000 people. The state also employs 20,000 medical workers. The order also has subjects, of whom there are more than 15,000. They all have visa-free entry into 32 countries of the world.

Vatican

The smallest in number. Only 836 people live in it, among whom 111 couples are married. And 292 residents of this country are representatives of the clergy. Moreover, being born in the Vatican does not give automatic citizenship - to become a Vatican you need to serve the Holy See. As soon as a person ceases to be a member of the clergy, he automatically ceases to be a citizen.
