10 Famous Movies That Were Originally Stage Productions (11 Photos)
On March 27, World Theater Day was celebrated. This art form is several hundred years older than cinema, so it laid almost all the foundations for what we see in films. However, these are completely different entities, and a play and a film script are markedly different types of literature from each other.
We won’t go into the subtleties of the differences - this entire introductory part was needed to move on to listing several films that were originally plays and, accordingly, theatrical productions. And only then the stories were reworked into scripts, famous film actors were invited and a film was shot.
This doesn’t happen as often as it might seem, especially if you don’t take “Hamlet” and remember only examples from recent decades.
