I suggest you familiarize yourself with the list - maybe you want to watch something urgently. Or reconsider.

Californian actress Cameron Diaz has not acted in films for almost 10 years - her last films came out in 2014. But at the same time, she still remains a Hollywood star, as she has dozens of films and four Golden Globe nominations under her belt. The model, who became famous throughout the world thanks to the film “The Mask” back in 1994, will forever be remembered by viewers for her far from monotonous roles and unique smile.

In honor of the actress's birthday, we tried to collect Cameron Diaz's most highly rated films, without including several hits that, although famous, have much more modest ratings.

Mask (1994)

Film debut of the actress. The film made stars of both her and Jim Carrey, who played down-on-his-luck bank employee Stanley Ipkiss, who finds a magical mask that turns him into an energetic superhero. 22-year-old Diaz played Tina, a singer and girlfriend of the main villain. But will she stay with him when such a gorgeous gentleman with a green face appears nearby?

Gangs of New York (2002)

Diaz in an unusual role for himself in the historical drama by Martin Scorsese. The actress played pickpocket and swindler Jenny, who plies her trade on the dangerous streets of New York in the second half of the 19th century and finds herself in the midst of a showdown between the gangs of heroes Leonardo DiCaprio and Daniel Day-Lewis.

For this role, Diaz was nominated for a Golden Globe.

Every Sunday (1999)

Cameron as the young owner of the Miami Sharks football club, Christina Pagnacci. Having inherited it from her father, the heroine perceives the club solely as a source of income, therefore, with rash decisions from a sporting point of view, she only brings harm to the team. Christina especially doesn’t like the Miami Sharks coach and friend of her father, Tony D’Amato, played by Al Pacino, who thinks very differently from her.

Exchange Holiday (2006)

The heroines Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet, strangers to each other, disappointed with their personal lives, simultaneously decide that they need to take a break from their place of residence with all its routine worries. Having found each other on the Internet, the girls agree to swap homes for a while: the heroine Diaz, who runs an advertising agency, goes to a cozy and snowy English province, and the heroine Winslet, a journalist for the Daily Telegraph, goes to hot California.

Last Supper (1995)

A chamber film about a group of young graduate students with liberal views who have started a tradition of inviting to a dinner party those who have views opposite to theirs. After arguing with their counterpart, young people usually poison him with potassium cyanide. But one day a popular TV presenter came to their feast and was able to so confidently move the heroes’ faces across the table with his position that they left him alive. Probably in vain?

Away from you (2005)

Two adult sisters, very different from each other, live without their mother. Due to the frivolity of the youngest, Maggie (Diaz), the eldest, Rose, is forced to shelter her sister, but this does not lead to good - Maggie immediately ends up in bed with a guy and at the same time Rose’s boss. The not-so-best relationship between the sisters deteriorates completely. Maybe grandma can help them get closer by telling the sisters about the roots of their enmity?

Being John Malkovich (1999)

That same amazing film about the little room that goes into the head of actor John Malkovich allowed Cameron Diaz to play another role that is atypical for herself. Here she plays the wife of the main character Craig, who just found the entrance to the room/head, and becomes part of an amazing love triangle.

Another Golden Globe nomination in Diaz's career.

Vanilla Sky (2001)

Tom Cruise's two-hour balancing between sleep and reality, in which he does not understand what is real and what is not, and confuses Penelope Cruz and Cameron Diaz. And all because the heroine of the latter, out of jealousy, decides to take her own life in a car accident. Of course, without dropping off the hero Cruz first.

Diaz's third Golden Globe nomination. As in the two previous cases, for a supporting role.

My Guardian Angel (2009)

11-year-old Anne is suing her own parents for raising her solely so that the girl could become a donor for her sister Kate, who has leukemia. Guess who played the role of mother of the year? Yes, yes, our birthday girl.

Everybody's Crazy About Mary (1998)

The main character Ted, played by Ben Stiller, is trying to find his high school sweetheart named Mary. Having found her in Miami with the help of a private detective, Ted finds out that everyone around the girl is in love with her. The pizza delivery guy, Tad's friend Dom, and the private detective he hired had already taken to her too. And then her ex-fiancé appears. Everyone is crazy about Mary because everyone is crazy about Cameron Diaz.

For this role, the actress received the first Golden Globe nomination in her career and the only one of four for a leading role.

What other Cameron Diaz films are you crazy about? "Charlie's Angels"? "Very bad teacher"? But she also voiced Fiona in Shrek!
