Berry season is the most delightful gastronomic time. Tender strawberries give way to delicious currants. And there, juicy raspberries are just around the corner.
But there are berries in the world about which less is known. Although they are not inferior in appearance and taste to everyone’s favorites.

Loganberry or Loganberry, named after the gardener who developed it, is a hybrid of blackberries and raspberries. Outwardly it is similar to the first one, but the flesh is more raspberry-colored, although tart. A similar hybrid is tayberry. Its berries are sweeter, redder and look like small pine cones.

Native Americans call this berry Saskatoon, and in Britain the serviceberry is known as Juneberry. They look similar in appearance to large blackcurrant fruits and have a rich nutty flavor. Suitable for consumption both fresh and dried.
Muscadine

Shepherdia
This is a Canadian variety of sea buckthorn. The berries are similar to sea buckthorn except for the color. The skin is dense, the surface is covered with small white specks. Schisandra
Schisandra berries are small, red, and resemble currants or viburnum in appearance. In its fresh form, it is a dessert for everyone due to the rare combination of several flavors at once - spicy, sweet, salty, bitter and sour. The fruits are very healthy and are actively used in dried form to normalize sleep, digestion, blood pressure and eliminate chronic fatigue. In cooking, raw materials are used in the production of jams, fruit drinks and marmalade.
