We know Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren, Elvis Presley, Audrey Hepburn and other Hollywood stars primarily as legends of cinema and the pop scene, often without thinking about their off-stage lives.
However, the same people were at the origins of Hollywood nightlife and the culture of American bohemian parties. Despite attempts to copy them outside the United States, success could not be repeated anywhere (as well as in cinema), and the era of the “dolce life” of Hollywood remained a unique phenomenon in American and world history. These archival photographs are the best demonstration of how everything really was.
