Hot ten beds, the price of which is off the charts, and the range of options is surprising.

We do not take into account installations invented by artists as works of art. Still, creativity has a different price and value. We have collected beds for you that you can actually buy. With a certain amount of money, of course. These sums are quite large - ranging from 50 thousand dollars to millions.

"Sphere" by Karim Rashid

Price: $50,000

The bed, inscribed in a cube, was designed by Karim Rashid, one of the world's most famous industrial designers. Placing it in an ordinary room is problematic, but in a large room such a mini-bedroom will create the effect of a room within a room. The color of the upholstery can be chosen according to your own taste. As for the “filling”, LED lighting, a mirror, a stand for champagne and a TV are built into the structure. And if you want a bigger screen, you will have to change the TV... along with the bed!

Bed that detects snoring

Price: $50,000

The high-tech model Starry Night Sleep Technology Bed was released by Leggett & Platt. It has built-in special sensors that can recognize vibrations that we perceive as the rumbling sounds of snoring. As soon as a sleeping person begins to snore, the bed independently changes its tilt angle by 7 degrees. The snoring stops, and the miracle technology returns the mattress to its original position. The set of options also includes a temperature control system (the mattress can be heated differently from different sides) and an Internet portal with many settings.

Cosmic sensations

Price: $60,000

Do you want to be in the shoes of the characters in a movie about space travel, who usually sleep in super-comfortable capsules? The Cosmovoide Bed was invented especially for this purpose. For six tens of thousands of dollars you can buy a dream island, which has built-in LED lighting, a telephone, and a DVD. Comfort is provided by suspension springs and a special electrical relaxation system.

Megalomania

Price: $85,000

The model name Majesty translates as greatness or majesty. And the main secret of the handmade Majesty VI-Spring bed is a mattress made using secret technology from six thousand springs. Of course, increased comfort. All other parts of the bed are made of expensive and exclusively natural materials, textile parts are made of cotton, silk and cashmere. As for the decor, of course, it couldn’t be done without sputtering with gold and silver. The minimum price for one and a half is from 10 thousand dollars. A 2 x 2 meter mattress already costs more than 20 thousand dollars.

Bunker bed

The creepy-looking bed exists in a single copy.

Price: $177,600

But this is not a design move at all. The model of a bed resembling a coffin was developed in case of a nuclear war or some other cataclysm. And not as a hypothetical model! They actually offer to buy a bunker bed in the USA for $177.6 thousand, and if you’re lucky, then with a 12% discount - “only” for $156.3 thousand. If purchased, it will be specially manufactured and delivered within the country in 10-14 weeks. However, there is no rush or queue of people interested. Inventor Jeff Walling came up with a multifunctional unit back in 2001 and gave it the beautiful name Quantum Sleeper - “Quantum Bedroom”, but in almost 20 years a single copy was made, and that wooden one - in fact, only a prototype of a bed that protects from everything: hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, gas or chemical attacks, robber attacks...

What is included in the package of the “safest vacation spot”? Steel frame with bulletproof coating, air circulation system with biochemical filters, respiratory protection, motion, smoke and proximity sensors, emergency communication systems, external and remote control, backup batteries. As well as a mechanism for closing the shelter in an emergency, a mirror covering over the head, providing visibility only from the inside, places to store food supplies and an independent bathroom.

Sunset of dreams

Price: $210,000

Sunset Bed is almost a work of art, a painting in a practical form. The headboard really resembles the disk of the sun at sunset: it is assembled from 78 wedges made of rare wood. The chief designer of the furniture house Parnian Furniture spent two years coming up with an unusual model. It took another 8 months for the company’s craftsmen to make the first sample from ebony, African sapele wood and a special type of maple. The basis of the design is stainless steel, the decorative details are gold. The “Sunset Bed” has been repeatedly awarded with prestigious awards in the field of furniture design, and the model is quite affordable to order. Unless, of course, you have a couple of hundred thousand dollars.

Golden Island of Entertainment

Price: $676,000

The dimensions of the Gold Bed (literally “golden bed”) from the German company Jado Steel Style are three by three meters. But this is not what makes it one of the most expensive. Firstly, this is an example of flashy luxury: decorative inserts are made of Swarovski crystals and the most expensive gold - 24-karat (pure gold of the highest standard, without the addition of other metals). And secondly, the bed is literally crammed with all kinds of equipment: a DVD player with a Bose audio system, a Blu-Ray player, a Sony Playstation 3 game console, a plasma TV panel and a built-in Busch Jaeger Control panel, with which you can control all entertainment functions. There's also internet access, and the cherry on top of this whole tech cake is a wine cooler. In a word, everything for a comfortable stay. For a “modest” amount - almost 700 thousand dollars.

floating bed

Price: $1,600,000

The creators of the Magnetic Floating Bed managed to overcome gravity. Thanks to a system of powerful magnets, the bed floats at a height of 40 cm from the floor, while supporting a weight of up to 900 kg. The Danish architect Janjaap Ruijssenaars won a victory over the laws of gravity, who presented his creation at the Millionaires' Fair in Kortrijk, Belgium back in 2006. Why are we all still awake on this extraordinary invention? It's all about three shortcomings. Firstly, the floating bed must be tied to the walls with thin cables, stretched like a string. Secondly, it is unknown how prolonged exposure to a magnetic field can affect the body. Finally, the third drawback is the price: you will have to pay $1.6 million for a flying bed. But there is a more economical solution: you can purchase a copy the size of one-fifth of the exhibition sample. Such a purchase will cost $153,000.

Luxury under the canopy

Price: $6,300,000

In the Baldacchino Supreme model from designer Stuart Hughes, made in the style of decadence, only gold - more than a hundredweight! 107 kg of pure precious metal with patination. The chestnut wood back is decorated with diamonds and other precious stones, the canopy made of Italian silk and cotton is located on an ash frame. There are two copies in total, each of which was made by Hebanon craftsmen for about 3 months. The first one cost $4,000,000, but at the auction there was a serious fight between buyers, so the price jumped by more than one and a half times. We suspect that it was precisely after this that the second copy was made: demand, as we know, creates supply.

Marie Antoinette's bed

Price: kept secret.

This unique bed can theoretically also be purchased. Unless, of course, the current owner Nikas Safronov decides to sell it. The bed of the wife of King Louis XVI of France, executed at the end of the 18th century, stands in the bedroom of a 17-room apartment on Bryusov Lane. The artist spent several years renovating the 1,000-square-meter apartment, and then furnished the second floor with antique furniture, turning it into a Gothic palace in the center of Moscow. The bed is part of a whole suite from the chambers of the French queen. Nikas admits that he himself never sleeps on it, so as not to disturb the spirit of the royal person. The interior item is covered with a rare bedspread and wolf skins.
